TOPIC: Selling WA Memberships

There are many traffic sources available, and we all have our favorites that seem to be more successful.

Are you open to sharing your methods?

SEO seems to be more prominent here in the WA Community, but we know there are others that may be faster to recruit new WA Members.

(Aside from Blog Posts for SEO)

- Building an Email List

- Paid ADs (Facebook, Google PPC, Bing PPC etc)

- Direct Mail Postcards

- In-Person Meetings

- YouTube

- Partnerships / Coops

So then…

Can you share yours or are yours... “secret“ and you prefer not to share?

This is something I have been testing traffic sources a bit here and a bit there the past couple of weeks.

Nothing serious. Just paid advertising experiments outside of the mainstream that every website covers over & over & over again.

The ones I have tested so far have been pretty much worthless.

Truly, I had much more success 17 years ago using Traffic Exchanges to build an email list. I got sign-ups from that and was blown away when sales resulted from it.

I think at our level... meaning an individual or a couple... doing this kind of thing to build a business... all paid advertising should be done for only two reasons... (1) to build a following and (2) to test copy to improve conversions.

Although... saying that... I used to do ppc direct to Clickbank products and made many sales that way. It just takes a lot of testing and tweaking of the ad copy and the targeting to the right people.

I'd say honestly... FB would probably be the way to go for that kind of thing. You can do paid ads on there. You can do the Live videos on there. You can join existing groups of people. And maybe you could create a new group and use paid ads to bring people to the group.

There are so many ways.

The hardest part for me is finding things that are REAL because I don't want to do the mainstream highly visible stuff now. And there are so many people selling "100% fake" or otherwise "junk" traffic online.

I am kind of looking away from "businesses" at this point (although I have a list of 2nd tier ppc, etc I will use in the future.... http://7Search.com was only of my favorites years ago. They always did well for me. Unfortunately, when I checked a few weeks ago they are no longer in business).

Now, I am back to focusing more on finding groups of people in the niche audiences myself. Because, in the end, that is what we are after. Just finding the niche audience so we can reach them.

One way I have thought about doing is to buy up expired domains that have links pointing to them that are bringing traffic. But instead of having those domains redirect to my websites I would put a short article on them... The website that used to be at this spot is no longer here. But... if you are interested in so-and-so I recommend checking out this great website over here.

Forums, clubs, etc.

Really.... there are so many ways to reach people it's kind of overwhelming as far as where to start.

I don't think I would actually share successful tests publicly though. Reason being everytime that is done the masses start using it and that makes it no longer effective.

That is the history of IM. Something works. Gurus start selling products. Then the wannabe gurus start teaching people about it... and so on... until the source is completely overrun just flooded with so many people the source becomes all but worthless (i.e. prices fly up hugely, competition is everywhere) and then the gurus are on to the next thing to destroy... I mean "share the secrets" about. lol

Thanks for sharing. You have obvious genuine experience, and I appreciate and respect that.

The problem with most "paid" advertising online, is they see it and then they are off onto another thing. It is really hard to "set the hook" when there are so many distractions online.

Targeting already existing groups in your niche is brilliant.

I'll be there one day soon. Right now its writing blog posts for me.

How many posts per day do you write?

It's more like how many posts per week, I get out one per week. And it's a struggle for me to get those out.

As I get back into promoting WA, my plan is to use content/SEO as shown in the training. I have content that I wrote 5 years ago that is still getting referrals so content is the best long term strategy. I'm planning to build an email list off of the content to hopefully increase conversions. Then down the road get into some paid ads to more quickly increase the immediate results.

Looks like a good plan. 👍 you have the search engine base, then increase relationships with email, then scale up with paid Ads. Smart marketer. 😊
