Rest In Peace
If you’ve read anything written by AI lately, chances are it asked you to “delve into the topic” within the first paragraph. And that’s the problem.
Nobody talks like that. Not even Scott when he is composing Boosy Reviews!
When was the last time someone at a party said, “Let’s delve into this potato salad”? Exactly. It never happens. This word is far from Amazing and needs to go forth to the hereafter!

Here’s why “delve” is a dead giveaway you’re reading something artificial:
- It’s overly formal. Real people say “dig in,” “go deeper,” or “take a look.” “Delve” feels like a word you use when your thesaurus gets cocky.
- It breaks the flow. Good writing should be clear and natural. “Delve” sticks out like a stiff collar at a hoodie convention.
- It screams “robot.” Ask five AI tools to write a blog post intro, and you’ll get “Let’s delve into…” at least four times. It’s become the beige wall of AI writing, technically acceptable, but soulless, and very much needs to go away.
Want to sound human? Try being human. Use words that feel real. Speak like you’re actually talking to someone, not like you’re narrating a museum tour. Be you and use your own words. Combine yourself with what AI gives you to polish your content, but by all means: Lose This Word!
So next time you see “delve,” do us all a favor: delete it. You’ll sound better instantly, and if not, Delve into a thesaurus and try again!
You may even convince it to Delve it's own hole for burial!
