Success in affiliate marketing is not something that grows on trees, or something you can grab at a big box store, open up, and then sit back and enjoy. Success, like many other things, is earned. By earned, I mean you have to work for it if you want to achieve it. If an online Guru tells you otherwise, that person is full of sh|t!

Solve Real Problems And Build Trust

What does this mean? It means concentrate on helping rather than on making money at first. By building a reputation as someone who helps, you build trust with your audience. Trust is the foundation of your business. Build it on sand, and it will fail; but if you build on solid rock, it will last forever. With trust comes sales, but never get in a hurry to make money. It takes some time to build trust; the money will come, but it does take time.

Choose the Right Products

Once you have people who trust you and listen to what you have to say, it is time to monetize. Choosing the right products is a make it or break it step. If your Niche is beekeeping, you would not want to send them to purchase an ice maker. Focusing on your niche and products that solve their problems is the key here. This is part of the trust you have earned.

Match Content to Search Intent

You will need to know what problems your audience is having. Knowing what and why they are searching will help you create content to help them solve their problems. If they are looking for information, then provide it, not a sales pitch.

Wrong Way vs. Right Way

• Wrong: Writing a “Buy Now” sales page for “How to plant tomatoes.”
• Right: Writing a step-by-step planting guide, then recommending the best tools.

Get to know the three types of search intent: informational, navigational, and transactional.

• Informational content → Teach them, then link to tools/products they might need.
• Navigational → Compare and recommend, helping them choose.
• Transactional → Give them the direct buying option with your affiliate link.

Keep Track of Everything

As you get off the ground, your analytics will paint a picture of what is working and what is not. Adjust your strategy accordingly and focus on your strong points. Stay on top of this.

The sky is the limit when it comes to marketing. So much money is spent online every year by online shoppers. It is up to you and your hard work to grab your slice of the pie.

There is no set number on what you can or should be making and when. It is all based on how much work you are willing to put into your business. The stronger your foundation and the trust you earn will help you to become the success you are trying to achieve.
