How I Create Marketing Images That Actually Get Attention

I am known here for my images. If I may, I would like to offer some insights on marketing images I feel may help you when creating your own.

People decide in seconds whether to stop scrolling, so a marketing image has to do its job quickly and effectively. A good image grabs attention, supports the message, and pushes a next step, such as a click, signup, or sale. But at the same time, it needs to stay simple because people scan quickly. Short text, strong contrast, and one main idea help the image land at a glance.

Brand fit matters too. I would recommend using the same colors, fonts, and visual style across blogs, email, and social posts so the content feels connected. Templates or canned prompts can help with that. Here is a branded image I created as a Pinterest pin for my own site as an example. It is overpolished in my opinion, which is why it did not make the cut for my site content and serves as a pin.

Your images should feel honest and believable, because visuals that look too polished can seem fake. A slightly imperfect photo often feels more trustworthy than something that looks staged. Remember, AI is perfect; you are not, so adjust accordingly.

AI image tools can save time if you have them available to you in your creation stack. I would recommend using ChatGPT mainly for brainstorming, rough mockups, and quick variations, then deliver the rough draft to our tools.

Our tools, Image Studio and kre8or.ai (coming soon), offer a way to keep more of the process in one place with features like Reference Images, which store uploaded assets (Your Templates) and give them a sense of your vision. Use this feature to remain consistent. This also helps you use your credits wisely because you do not have to start from scratch every time you create a branded image.

Bad prompts can lead to vague results. You need to be aware of copyright issues as well, because when creating images with LLMs (Gemini, Bing, GPT, etc), I have seen image generators pull from competing sites and incorporate elements into my images. Pay attention, with the amount of images I create daily, I have seen it happening more and more. Just like content creation, images require the human touch and oversight as well.

My main takeaway is very simple: start with one clear purpose, make the image fit the brand, test it, and improve the next version.
