Manufacturers advertise new products, everyone knows that. They are all starting to find easier ways to speed up the process. Many are now relying on AI to accomplish this. But what happens when you copy and paste rather than edit and review before posting? You get egged in the face.
If you pay attention, you can see and hear AI commercials on TV if you pay attention. Whether it is an image or the robotic "Buzzwords" we try to avoid in our content. The more you pay attention the worse it gets.
I think everyone here has heard of Colgate toothpaste if you brush your teeth on the regular. They have been around for years. Recently they released two new flavors, coconut and watermelon. For people who like thes flavors, it is a welcome sight and taste.
Now back to the AI blunder. The marketing team took to Instagram and ran a promo ad. They used this image.

There is nothing wrong with using AI at all, but you'd think they would take the time to get it right. They did not. It is full of errors and is obvious they did not review it. They instead took a glance and uploaded it.
It did not take long for their followers to pick it apart.

Lately I am sure you have heard many people talking about copy and pasting raw AI instead of adding value and personal insight. This is a prime example of why AI needs to be reviewed.
Did Colgate make a mistake? Are they embarrassed? Do you think some of the marketing team will catch heat over this? I would say yes to all 3 questions.
The lesson here is the need to review AI output before you put it out there. Don't learn the hard way like Colgate did. They will eventually recover, but they have damaged their trust in the short term. Please don't repeat their mistake. Take the time to review before you upload or publish.
