Took A Chance!

...or, Went With My Gut Instinct!

I was thinking about this song I wrote, "Took A Chance", and how it could apply to all the kindred spirits who've joined Wealthy Affiliate. We are all kicking ourselves in the collective bum, and GOING FOR IT!!

Quite by chance, I came across WA, when looking to work from home.

Now I feel I've taken an educated chance if you will, and every blessed day, I'm getting the education of a lifetime!

If you're up for a bit of quirky inspiration, I'd be very honored if you listened here:

It's the first song on the list, and here are my lyrics.

Hope you enjoy...and thank you!:)

Took A Chance

Could have bent - could have stayed

But they were raining on my parade

Always work, never fun

Until the day when I decided to run

"Boy face up to your life -

Nobody said it would be paradise"

"Brighten up", they all said

I listened to them, then I used my head

and I took a chance

Nothing like the feeling of a dream come true

Some kind of trance

Took me momentarily and pushed me through!

This life's what you make it, you give it and you take it

In the end it's up to you

You can talk a good game, but you know all the same

It's what you do

Circus train rolled through town

Felt like a bird sitting on the ground

Missed it once - not again!

I hesitated, I remember when...

Still got time on my side

My inspiration hasn't quite yet died

All the dreams I kept hid

Got real the day I made my bid

and I took a chance

Nothing like the feeling of a dream come true!

Some kind of trance

Took me momentarily and pushed me through

This life's what you make it, you give it and you take it

In the end it's up to you

You can talk a good game, but you know all the same

It's what you do

There's a way you can go

But well planned out can just be too darned slow

Seize some light, start a blaze

It's far too easy to be nothin' these days

There's a choice we can make

A rocket ride we all can take

Lift the hatch - I'm inside!

If I fall flat at least I'll know I tried

and I took a chance

Left behind some trouble but I found some too

Seat of the pants

Flying kind of blind, although my aim was true

If you feel that truth about wasted youth

And you're hungry and alive

You gotta clear the smoke, you gotta go for broke

And drive...

DRIVE ON!!

When I recorded "The Pig Blowed Up", you were there with me in spirit, beer in hand:))

I enjoyed it very much. Thanks Dave

You're welcome, Dave.
Thanks for letting me know, bro:)

Great song, thanks Terry. I also like the 2nd one Fireside Song particularly. Well done to you!

Thank you very kindly, Ray.
I so appreciate you listening further, and enjoying "Fireside Song''.
It's likely my favourite, too. I wrote it at the cottage, in my 16th summer, while wishing I had a girlfriend:)

Wow that's a great memory Terry, I like your "punk" photo as well, by the way.

HAhahaa...thanks, Ray!
I was just at the age to get into the punk and new wave thing!
I had so much fun with the ENERGY!!
Wrote some fun songs, fronted a couple of little bands...not into safety pins though - LOL;)
I bet the times and that energy eventually influenced your fashion and grooming business, cos you are so creative!:)

Yes so much energy, I can see that!
Well your photos really fascinated me, you say you're in your late 50's, I'm in my early 50's, so I can see the timeline. Good ol' days!
Thanks again Terry! :-)

HAhahaaa! The timeline...exactly!
Thanks for your kind words, Ray...plus we both love Jack Russells:)

Yes, Jack Russells!

HAhahaa...GREAT!
Your Jack has distinct and beautiful markings, Ray!
Your lovely animals are loving their human:)
Your cat is being 'lovey' with you, and your other furry luv is guarding you(!)
What a beautiful 'Lifetime' pic you have shared:)

Wow, thanks for the kind word Terry, yes we're all getting on so well, trying to make the most of the last few years fun & peace with them.
Thanks again Terry!

WONDERFUL, Ray; that's the way to go!
All the BEST to you and yours:)

Thanks, Terry, looking great!

Thank you, Therese; aren't you kind:)

Oh Therese...If you viewed my album cover, that's me in 2001, when I made "Creeky Charms". Thanks kindly;)
Getting to be more of a broken down geezer these days... lol

Great Little Tune! Good on Ya!
