Easier To Sell 100 People A $1 Product Or 1 Person A $100 Product?
So here's the question... Is it easier to sell :
A) 100 people @ $1 per item
B) 1 person @ $100 per item
To my surprise, I get more people telling me option A! That's because it may seem easier to sell because it's cheaper. I realize that to be false over the past few years doing affiliate marketing and on my other business as well too.
DID YOU KNOW: It takes the SAME EFFORT to sell a $1 product or a $100 product. The only thing you are doing is spending MORE TIME to sell 100 people.
Whenever someone buys anything, they go through 7 stages of buying cycle be it $1 or $100.
To bring it into perspective, what Wealthy Affiliate teaches us is to create product reviews of programs. That will fall under the consideration and justification phase to help buyers move into the purchase phase. That's where you earn your affiliate commissions. So it doesn't matter what you're selling, every buyer goes through the 7 stages. It may be slightly easier for someone to go through the cycle faster at a lower price, but it depends on the problem and value you are delivering ultimately.
Why am i writing this? Here's 2 scenarios that I encountered in the past 3 months:
Scenario A: My other business is involved with a coaching company. At one point, my boss was selling a $197 offer to 4 people but it took him as long as 30 minutes of answering questions to convince 2 people to buy.
Another session, he sold the SAME EXACT OFFER at $1,997 and it only took him 10 minutes to convince 2 people to buy again.
Scenario B: I just started promoting a new program on my website and wrote the same exact review template as all my other reviews. For Wealthy Affiliate, my commissions is just $23.50 for month and $175 per year.
This program paid me this amount after about 1.5 months of ranking:
This is just one sale of a $997 program. It would take me 3 sales of WA yearly to hit the same amount. (P.S. I'm not saying Wealthy Affiliate is a bad program to promote, it's still my core program that I promote for my affiliate business!)
The point I'm getting across with these two examples is that price really doesn't matter at all. If you can deliver the value and address the problems people are paying, they are WILLING to pay no matter how big the amount is.
Think about this: Would you pay $1,000 to me if I could help you achieve $10,000 in 1 year? If you can address this properly, you can easily make sales inside out.
Here's a takeaway from this post if you reach this far: If you are promoting affiliate programs, go for things that pay you BIG commission. You want to sell programs like Wealthy Affiliate where a yearly sale is close to $200 and you just need 10 sale a month to easily hit close to $2k, compared to selling a $1 product 2000 times.
It takes the SAME effort to literally sell both products. So why not use your effort to earn more instead of going after measly <5% commissions affiliate programs? (I'm looking at you Amazon)
Let me know your thoughts about this.
EDIT: Just realized.... with that one sale I got my Wealthy Affiliate yearly membership covered next year easily. Just ONE big sale is enough to cover your investment if you're still thinking whether WA is worth it or not

Thanks! This topic has been something I just have been observing for quite awhile. It just doesn't make sense for people to spend 80% of their time to just get 20% reward, but way better if you spend 20% time to earn 80% reward.
