Hi, so I got another website but hosted by another hosting company. What are the steps I need to do to take that site from there to WA? What I want to do is:
1. Change
You'll need to back up your entire website, not just the database. Use All In One WP Migration plugin and save the file on your computer.
Don't change the name servers until after you've done the backup.
Contact Site Support for further instructions. Contact Site Support for Technical Issues With Your Website marionblackonline.com/move
Thanks, I tried contacting site support but it put my question up to the community. I'll try again though.
Change DNS To WA Servers Then to copy your site go to the old site and
dashboard/tools/export/export all/ save to hard drive
Then install wp on your domain here
Dashboard/toold/import/wpblog/ save
This saves all of the site content and the database. you don't need a plugin to do it

Marion and Catherine got the answers for you. I just want to add the fundamental decision is the purpose for migration. If you think WA is the platform for you in the long term. then I suggest you plan to migrated the entire site including the domain name so you only pay one site for all services.
The migration effort, what you need to do will have several steps. You need to plan it so you have minimal disruption to your site. Some of these actions take time.
