The Journey Ends?

You know when I started this I knew there would come a time where I would not be able to continue, not through lack of understanding but that of resources so I guess I kind of shot myself in the foot.

Having said that what I have learned has been helpful although I am still laboring a little on a few points which I will talk about shortly. My journey with WA is most definitely not at its end but I sadly have to delay it until my circumstances allow me to move forward. I will refine and apply what I have learn t thus far and hopefully make something of this.

I’m currently looking at the early stages of the Affiliate boot camp as another possible outlet but my heart is in the site I have initially created.

Back to my points of laboring.

It is odd but I created a blog for my business five years ago using Word Press without issue, yet I am puzzled as to why I am experiencing a few simple issues with this recently created one through WA.

1 – I do not for the life of me seem to be able to work out how to prevent a post being the landing page which is not what I want. I just want to create a Home page with fixed content.

2 – When going through the lesson about adding menus and widgets, I liked the layout Kyle used on the video and realized that layout and component considerations were variable depending on template chosen. Unwittingly I chose a template that did not afford me the control that the one in the video had. I thought no problem, ill pop over to themes in the dashboard and change it to the one Kyle used. Therein lies the problem, of the original 12 offered when selecting a template for the site, only 4 remained in the themes section of which none were suitable, let alone the example Kyle used was not there. I have asked for community help via live chat and normal messaging but to date no suitable solution has come to light.

It would be rather superb if anyone who has clearly more experience than I have with this particular version of Word Press to be able to proffer a workable solution short of me deleting my site and starting over.

Moving forward with Premium is clearly the logical step and as mentioned earlier, I will do so when I can as although I have dabbled a little in the past with affiliate marketing the structure of WA has been most beneficial and I look forward to a long and successful partnership in due course because I know I can do this successfully.

Hi Peter
Sorry to hear of your woes, but just to re assure you, WA Premium is the way to go, concerning the theme issue you can change it to one that works better for you, just a little trial and error is needed,

Wishing you great stuff for 2018.

Gary
