Diversification of Niches Through Blog Content: "Raid Methodology"

Ah, the humble ant...small, weak, blind. Alone, it's not very good at doing much of anything. However, in a swarm, the ant is one of the most powerful and sophisticated creatures in the entire world. What you're looking at above isn't a sketch of a tree, it's a drawing of army ant raid patterns.

The first question's gonna be: "why are you even telling me this?" The reason is simple: we could learn from the ant. You see, websites work in exactly the same way. We have our "parent" pages, and the "child" pages extend outward. In a lot of ways, these pages fan outward towards "engagement" in the same way ants swarm out.

So, what are the ants doing in a raid swarm? Looking for food. At the front, the ants are sweeping the forest floor for insects and other prey items, they pass this towards the back, which are more refined lanes and columns, these columns separate and pass the food along, all the way back to the nest. These are some of the most successful formations in the entirety of life itself.

Blogs that specialize to form a website colony

Each blog is a point of engagement all unto itself, just like the ant. However, one blog alone is quite a useless thing, even if being engaged. It has to lead back somewhere. You can specialize each blog to have a "role" in the "colony" that is your website. For example, I could write a blog specifically to drive traffic to another page, etc.

Traditionally, this has been called "funneling". However, I'm a fan of biomimicry. Biomimicry is observing patterns in nature and modeling out technology and strategies after it. Funneling to me is archaic and perhaps needs an update to match the sophistication we know already exists in nature.

Therefore, looking to the humble ant, I've decided to, at least for my methods, rename it to "Raid Methodology", in honor of nature's finest and most efficient machine. Each blog in my system has its part and its "queen" is my brand. In this way, I could write a blog far removed from the main colony of blogs, and still have a channel to funnel leads back to my main source.

Conclusion

I'm still forming the basis of this theory, but I'm sure it exists somewhere else. In a lot of ways, I described funneling in a natural aspect, I'm well aware of that. However, I'm also failing to explain the dynamics behind how ants communicate and how this can play into blogs, such as the similarities between pheromone trails and "dofollow/nofollow".
