Introduction and First 30 Day Work Plan

Hello to all,

This is my first post, and will tell a bit of how I came to join Wealthy Affilates, as well as my plans going forward. It seems that a weekly blog is a good discipline for recording progress, stayig motivated and getting assistance from fellow WA'ers.

I'm intending to use it also as a reporting mechanism against goals, much like a regular Board Report. From this I am hoping to reassess and aet more realistic targets (I tend to be an optimist and think I can do a lot more than I really can!).

My recent history and how I came into Affiliate Marketing

My wife and I have just spent the last 18 months travelling around Europe. A lot of our accommodation was via pet sitting. If anyone wants to know more about how this works, I am happy to provide some tips and share about the best sites for this. It is a fantastic way to travel.

It was during this time that I started fiddling with affiliate marketing, trying a number of different approaches, campaigns using push, pop ads etc. I discovered that there's a bucket load of advice and dodgy products out there - its real easy to get lost and throw away a few bucks.

After returning to Australia (Perth, West Australia) in September we decided to buy a property in Margaret River, about 3 hours South of Perth - one of Australia's premium wine regions, with world class beaches and surf on our doorstep.

We have now bought and moved in to a property (3.5 acres) and are getting settled, so I can start to establish a bit more of a routine. Xmas of course disrupts this.

My first priority is to set a work plan. This will start with revision of the basic WA training and work my way through the Online Entrepreneur Certification, applying that knowledge to my websites as I go.

Although I've been a non-premium member of WA for several months, I have only completed the first 8 of these lessons.

Current web site

Along the way I moved from ad campaigns to thinking of building a site, and bought an existing site - www.successtoro.com which had traffic of about 5,000 a month and a small Facebook presence with a similar number of followers. I thought I could build on this, and generate a better revenue stream, and that this would be more consistent (albeit slower) than running ad campaigns. Not so - I've successfully reduced traffic and revenue across the board. As we've been very mobile it was difficult to get any real momentum going (never in the one place more than a couple of weeks).

My immediate target is to make the site more commercial - it needs a better path to revenue, and I need to rebuild traffic. To date I've been holding onto traffic of around 3,000 a month, but haven't made much progress on monetisation.

I would be grateful to anyone who takes a quick look at this site and can give me any suggestions you think relevant.

My strategy is to build a mailing list for regular promotions, but this has stalled. I have used Mailchimp amd Mailer Lite - but neither do quite what I want. Not sure if you have any experience or knowledge of auto-responders, but again, any tips will be gratefully received.

My 30 Day Plan

This is actually a 42 day plan as it takes me through to end January. We have just moved in to our new home and still have a lot of sorting out to do - eg rebuilding the chook pen, a large number of trees that need pruning etc. But at least the internal electronics are up and running, so work can recommence.

4. Update ST strategy and plans
5. Revise and initiate improved autoresponders and email attraction for ST
6. Six ST posts
7. Six new ST links
8. Twelve social ST posts
9. Create weekly work flow tool
10. Create 360 plan for 2020
