Hop into 2020 by beginning at the finish

Loving our Back Yard and ready to hop into 2020.

As I am restarting my affiliate journey I have realised that I haven't been terribly strategic to date. Bit like a plumber with a leaky tap (my career has been as strategy consultant to business owners and senior management).

Just too keen to get going and try new things, I guess. It's also difficult to plan properly when you don't really know what you're doing.

The essence of strategic thinking is to know where you want to get. As they say, best to start at the end, so that's what I'm working on at the moment. I am now treating my affiliate marketing as a business, not a hobby or a pastime!

Defining the end is not as easy as it sounds though and has taken me down an interesting and challenging path. To help this I am developing a template to guide me through the process, as I expect to apply it to each niche web site I develop in the future.

I will publish both the template and how I have applied it to my business in a future post. At the moment it's still a work in progress.
