About TBonki
Joined August 2016
My name is 'TBonki' and I am new to this community. I hope to bring in some revenue to help pay my student loan, since working doesn't begin to cover it. I am very excited to use this site and see where it takes me!

A little bit about my personal life:
I have a younger sister, two years my minor, whom I live with. She is very supportive and will graduate from uni soon, so can join me in the "oh no we actually have to work now" cycle.
I very recently got a puppy, who is hilarious and likes to chew all of my belongings (and sometimes my limbs). If I'm not on here for a while, I'm probably in A&E.
On that cheery note, goodbye!

I look forward to working with you Tonki and seeing these goals become a reality. :)

Hi Tonki ! I hope you are doing great and enjoying WA!

I just wanted to ask if you needed any help. It's easy to get "stuck" in the beginning, but we are always here to make your journey as smooth as possible.

What do you think about the community and training so far? Have you built your website? If so, let's take a look! Maybe I can give you some pointers.

All the best and have a great week!

Stefan

Its alright, and I hope so! I am slightly concerned about not being able to revert back to a starter membership after premium (because of financial reasons). Would cancelling my membership and restarting my account a month later be detrimental to my website? Thanks

Hi Tonki, once you are premium, you can't go back to starter again. Your account will be frozen and you can only use WA (including your website) by the time you become premium again.

If you create a free .siterubix website, I think WA will keep it for some time, but not forever. If you have your own domain, then you need to purchase hosting with another company and transfer your domain to that hosting.

Hosting is the service that stores all your website data and makes it available on the internet.

So, I think it's not a good idea to sign up already knowing you will have to cancel. You could wait a bit longer or get a Yearly membership, which will save you $18/month. But that's just my opinion.

All the best

Thank you Stefan, I may have to rethink this and go for a yearly membership in the new year. I'm looking forward to it!

That's great! But keep adding content to your .siterubix website, even as a free member. It still ranks in Google and by the time you go premium, you don't start from 0.
Good luck!

It will take you very far TBonki, not only pay your loan but it will also keep paying you for years as an alternative and steady income.

I wish I had started my site back when I was still a student... I have been through so many difficulties, and nothing could have affected me if I had an online income to back me up.

So, motivation and consistent action is key. Take advantage of this helpful community, ask as many questions as you need, and follow the training. It's excellent!

Good luck!

Thank you Stefan, your input is very appreciated.

I'll start now to grow my network and ask questions while I can - but I don't think I can do so in the future without membership.
If I can fund it i will definitely upgrade, but I'd like to bring in some revenue before if possible.

Best wishes.

No worries! It's my pleasure to guide you during this free trial... I see that you are deciding on your niche and you would like games! That's great!

There is competition everywhere you look, but people who follow the training and community here have all the knowledge to overcome and succeed.

here is a great post about the video games niche from nathaniel Best wishes

I know, it's a lot of information for one day LOL , but this article, also from Nathaniel, is VERY good!

Read when you have a time...

True, it is a lot to take in but it's enjoyable so it doesn't matter.
That article was uplifting - makes me feel better about the whole ordeal.

Also (another question - sorry ahah) is it sensible to be doing the majority of website designing on a mobile device? I seem to be doing it mostly on the go, but it's definitely less efficient.
Would you recommend doing it all on a desktop computer, or does it not make too much of a difference?
Thank you.

My mobile is terrible for using WordPress, but maybe yours is good. Overall, I think it's more efficient using a laptop, specially when you need to add and edit images.

But content is 99% of your business! So, if you can write everything you need on the go, that's perfect! when you get home you finish editing.

You're welcome!

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

I'm currently on lesson 8 of the course, and have learnt so much already! I did struggle a bit with my niche, and still am not sure whether it is the one I should put all my effort into.

I was considering gaming recommendations, or a way to directly compare video games.. but there are bigger fish already doing the same thing.

Do you think this is something i should go for?
Thanks in advance.

You will want to narrow it down a little. What aspect of video games (the games themselves, devices, externals, hardware, etc)? What genre? What console? What game? Lots of ways you can narrow things down here.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Thank you. Is 'I want to help people who don't know what to play next' too small or unimportant a market?

I will be focusing on the actual game rather than the device/software, seeing as I know more about it.

I was thinking of having my main pages following this (recommending) topic and then my home page blog with updates of newly released games - is this overcrowding? Should I focus on one or do they compliment each other?

Sorry for the questions, and I appreciate your time. :)

Sure, you could definitely head in this direction and it sounds like a passion of yours. :)
