Level 2 requires me to purchase my own domain. I don't want to sit just idle until I can purchase my own domain. What can I do in the meantime?

Teresa, you can start (or continue) building your website on a free SiteRubix subdomain.
When you're ready, you can transfer the content from that website to your own purchased domain.
When you say continue building what exactly do you mean? I just started Level 2 and really don't know where to go in training past that 1st lesson. Should I skip past that lesson?
You should have built your SiteRubix website in lesson 4 of Level 1, here: Building Your OWN Niche Website You can continue with your Level 2 Training, which begins here: Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website Level 2 Instead of purchasing a domain, click on Websites -> Site Builder -> and instead of purchasing a domain, click "On a Free Domain".
That will allow you to begin building a website on a WA-owned SiteRubix subdomain.
Note that purchasing your own domain isn't expensive; only about $14.
