Information Overload!
Hello to All!
Have you ever had too much information that you didn't know where to start? When you sit down to write, do you draw a blank? You research the topic and have so much information that you have no idea where to start? I have on many occasions. When I get this way I revert back to a little trick I learned in college.
Little Trick!
In college I had a professor who helped me with writers block. He told me to take a blank piece of paper. Draw a single circle in the middle. In that circle write the main topic. Set a timer for 2 minutes and then outside the circle just start writing what ever pops in your head when your thinking about the main topic. It doesn't matter if it seems related or not. It doesn't even have to make sense at the time. Just write!
Once your 2 minutes are up, take a step back and look at what you wrote. Is there something that you can eliminate as non relevant? See what is left. Usually you can build upon what is left and go from there.
It may seem silly, however it managed to get me through college! I was an "A" student, for the most part!
I hope this helps. Please feel free to leave me a comment.
Best wishes,
Valerie

Great information I get in front of the computer I draw a blank. I think of things when I'm driving usually. Agree with information overload I build in so much information it is hard to think what to write. I will have to try this and see how it works Thank you.

You and I must have gone to the same college, I had a professor tell me the same thing. Darn, I thought I was special. Great post and keep up the good work.
