A tip on how to increase your conversion rates!

I am fairly new to the whole online business thing. But I love to put my nerdy pants on and read through all the information that is available out there. If there is one thing I come across all the time, it's the conversion rate. A conversion rate is a data metric that tells you whether or not your prospects have done what you wanted them to do. Be it subscribing to your newsletter or further down your sales funnel, buying your product. Without it, you can't really know whether your sales copy and marketing are working well.

I came across an interesting fact the other day: apparently having photo's that feature human faces on your website can contribute to increasing your conversion rates by a whopping 90%! That is just crazy. In a study on an online art store, they swapped out the photo to that of the artist instead of their painting and this simple A/B test showed a higher conversion rate! Now the picture doesn't have to be of you per se, although I would recommend that you take a good quality photo of yourself for your profile picture. When your clients see a human face, they feel a stronger emotional connection to your story and to what you're selling. This then increases a level of trust, in your product but especially in your brand. Just be smart when using stock photo's as you don't want to come across as inauthentic.
