My Two Month Progress

I know I am still learning, but I feel that I have accomplished quite a bit in the last two months. I have always wanted to have a blog or a website dedicated to helping women conceive (ttcinyourthirties.com) and I have even tried doing it on my own. Boy, did I NOT know what I was doing when I first tried.

Today I know how to create a page, a post, combine the two, move and or copy comments, and really feel like I am getting the hang of Wordpress altogether. My biggest challenges are adding all of the social media to my website. I mean, I already understood facebook, but just don't really see the point of Pinterest as I have never used it before. I use it now, but I don't quite understand it. I am happy to say that I created a Twitter account a couple of weeks ago and I have a couple of followers which reminds me to send my twitter account out to the WA community! I am really getting the hang of Google Analytics, Adwords, and Webmaster, but can't quite seem to get approved by Google Adsense. So that is definitely one of my upcoming goals.

I feel like the community here is so supportive and everyone has been so helpful in answering any questions that I have. People here are very eager to help and I am grateful for that as I know I have a lot to learn. It seemed I was going strong (and I think I still am kind of), but as I progress in the training, I realized there were a lot of things I didn't do when creating my pages such as: linking to my other posts and other credible sites. While I figured it out at some point, I forgot to change my menu pages so I did that over the last couple of weeks. I have learned that content really is important and don't just try to throw something together. Needless to say, I have been doing a lot of cleaning up :)

Over the next three months my biggest goal is to gain traffic and really understand how to use and find great keywords (I understand keywords, but not sure if I am actually using them properly). I also want to get into the rhythm where creating a post is much faster. Right now, it is taking me at least 4 to 6 hours to come up with my content and find free pictures. I also want to be consistent. I just feel that I am learning so much that it is a struggle to post something of substance at least once a week, although I had been doing that. I suppose that is why I had to do some cleaning up, lol!

I would really love to have a good handle on this process over the next see months and hopefully see a profit. I don't care if it is $1. I would just love it if I had a reader that valued my information so much, he or she would purchase something based on the information I have given. Anyway, that is where I am today and constantly learning and loving it here. Thanks for reading!
