Me getting deep and meaningful just because!

Ok. By way of a habit of actually getting used to sharing and interracting openly on this site I am committing to blogging regularly and sharing my experiences and reflections as I go through this process of building a business that is sustainable. Networking is a key component of building an online business and being comfortable with communicating with others is a necessary step.

I am a very open person by nature but have all too often faded into the distance as things became challenging....but not this time. A little about myself, not too much as that may take a bit too long!. I was born in NZ and raised in Australia. Taught that hard work and accepting your lot in life was the best you could expect. Get yourself a house and pay your bills and you probably won't ever have much left over. That was my parents generation and their mindset.I somehow always believed that I could decide what I wanted, or at least I came to a place of feeling that I just didn't fit in with their traditional mindset.

Fast forward many years, way too many, 2014 was the worst year of my life. I experienced the death of a family member, life threatening illness myself that saw me hospitalised on four occasions, a fallout over a property settlement with my remaining family member which led to me being forced to leave the family home where I was caring for my father up until his death, and homelessness for a period of two months while I was trying to hold down a demanding new job and while the settllement of my fathers estate was in process. Phew, stresses me out even saying it all! lol.

Due to the extended stress and my physical illness I also lost my job. Hard days indeed. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And I am not the person I was 12 months ago. I learnt so much through my experience and although I sure as hell never ever want to go through a year like that again, and I won't, it definitely 'grew me up'.

I have a sense of courage and strength that I never knew I had. I also learnt that anger and resentment over the past hurts you and noone else so you need to transform it and find peace. I also learnt that there is something inside you that kicks in when the part of you that you relied on has no answers and wants to give in. I was reacquainted with the part of me that has the power to transcend struggle and pain and I am not pushing it away ever again Now more than ever I know that I will create what I choose in my life, I may infact if I am blessed to have the chance, help others create what they choose in their lives too.

We are not defined by the circumstances of our lives, we are defined by our ability to see beyond our present circumstances and build something positive and good that brings us, and hopefully others, joy and happiness.

I am totally enjoying the learning process on this site so far. It really is a very welcoming space!. I am a little jaded by the Get Rich Quick Schemes and the miracle products and schemes with their never ending upsells, all serving only to confuse us even more about what we actually need to build a successful business. Good genuine, no rubbish advice and guidance. No nasty surprises around every corner....that's something I can work with!. I have no idea how much I should or shouldn't write in a blog post lol so if I have waffled on as I am sure I probably have bearing my soul and stuff, please forgive : )
