Stay The Course

Stay the course - I have always been fascinated by the discoverers of the past. Christopher Columbus set sail long ago towards an unknown land and somehow maintained some sense of sanity and determination sailing across the vast unknown ocean and found land.

While he might not have been the first person to find the Americas he demonstrated a determination to reach a goal that is something to admire.

I have read that he had navigated by staying on a constant course; in one direction. There is a nautical term for this it is called "stay the course".

Yes, he had a dream and a goal, but where were the signs that he was progressing and on target along the way? I am sure that he navigated by the stars and a compass heading, yet there were no markers along the way except that the food and water were running low.

Maybe I need to investigate this thought of "stay the course" so that I too can maintain a constant direction to an unknown place called success? At first glance you might chalk this idea of stay the course to the phase we use a lot today - Just “Hang in there.”

But to stay the course means to pursue a goal regardless of any obstacles or criticism you might face.

I haven't been very good at staying the course lately. I could chalk it off to the Coronavirus blues or the anger and protests over injustices in our culture of late.

With all that is going on today everyone is stressed out to the max. God knows we all need to give ourselves a break, look nobody is perfect, why not just give yourself a break, think some new thoughts or just enjoy the day.

With every journey we don't always get signs of progress or goal markers. So somehow we have to learn to stay the course despite all the obstacles along the way.

Somehow we have to trust our compass that we are headed in the right directions. Sometimes we have to trust the stars (those who have succeeded before us) and believe in ourselves that we can hit our goal.

If you follow me and my journey to this unknown land called success you might be disappointed because I haven't made land yet. I have done a lot of zigzagging and forgot to put my sails up a few times.

But the possibility of success in affiliate marketing is as real as the air that you are breathing right now. People are making money doing what you want to do, so what holds us back?

Set your sail - stay on course - and follow the stars.

And when you get there - Send a note of encouragement to others who hope to make it some day.

Blessings

Ray

Thank you. Yes it is fascinating at times, always enough to keep moving forward even if it is only one small step at a time.
Have a blessed week ahead.
