Now for something completely different!

This is my first blog entry as I have been fixated on getting my website up and running and didn't have much to say.

However, there was one thing that presented a challange in the process. Deciding on a niche. Now it wasn't because I didn't have plenty of ideas, far from it, I had lists of them. It wasn't because I couldn't decide between them as I felt any one of them would present the opportunities to market products. Nor was it because I didn't believe I could create a good site or write good articles about them.

It was because I didn't believe in them. You see I am not a consumer. I live a very simple life and I simply don't buy 'things'. When I tried to write my first content about the niche I had chosen I found myself struggling to be passionate about it.

So I considered what I was passionate enough about that made me buy things. In a nutshell, my driving passion is spiritual growth and development, and service to humanty. It took me a little while to work out how I could make this a niche. As Kyle says, "What are my target visitor looking for?" Well if they are anything like me they are looking for intellectual answers to the perennial problems we all face as human beings and to the crisis we face in the world today. They are not looking to be consumers of things but rather of intellectual answers, and those answers can be found in books, in the expression of art and music, and in debate between peers.

So my website is a little different and I have no idea if it will work. But, I am passionate about it, and it isn't just another job, or avenue for making money. I am loving the process of applying material goals and processes to an otherwise spiritual endeavour. I don't have an agenda I just hope that my site will stimulate thought and a little change in this world...and in the process generate some financial reward.
