Pleasant surprise…

Yesterday I woke up and found out I made a commission from one of my blog posts I wrote about Qatar Airways.

It’s only $15 but hey, I take it. But a ticket must have cost at least $1000. Considering that, that’s so little.

Over the past few years I have used Qatar Airways a few times and stopped by at Doha, which is a really fun and highly rated airport.

I don’t know the ranking, but like, one of the best airports in the world. Lots of shops, restaurants, kids can play at one of these places that look like contemporary art. iMacs are placed all over the place.

This is a hub airport where travelers from all over the world transit to get to their destinations whether from Asia to Europe or South America, North America to Asia and so on.

Because of that, some travelers have a long layover at this airport and have to spend anywhere from 7-24h.

In some cases the airline would even offer free accommodation, 4 or 5-star hotel and free shuttle!

Very generous, huh?

So, lots to talk about this airport and in that blog post I wrote about how to spend time if you have a long layover.

It’s not the most comprehensive post because there are a few lounges and I didn’t use those. Some people want to know if they are worth the price, not just here but any airport in general, I think.

I didn’t use those because lounges are kinda expensive and they didn’t offer shower and a room where you can take a nap.

Anyway, I explained there are a few places you can sleep for free inside the airport and a free sightseeing tour offered by Qatar Airways, etc.

As far as keyword selection, I used only MozBar and tried to see what kind of sites were ranked in Google.

Now I have a few different combination of keywords ranked in page 1 and 2. So, I am getting a little bit of traffic.

I wrote this post back in June last year, but joined an affiliate program only two weeks ago.

I like this blog post because it came naturally and I didn’t try to force it, like thinking I’m going to make money or something like that, and that’s how it should be.

I wish every article I write could come naturally like that, right?

But it’s a small success in that sense, but money-wise I’ll see how it goes moving forward!
