1st month on Wealthy Affiliate
What I thought of my first month
Getting into Wealthy Affiliate is exiting as someone who is new to affiliate marketing or online marketing in general. You want to just rush ahead and get as far as you can as fast as you can and then you also want to try out all the cool things you can do and it can be quite overwhelming.
in the middle of the month I began to really get into it and started to put really long hours into every post and had watched half of the training videos and followed every step. I got a little too over my head and had a to stand back and just breathe a bit after a while. So I slowed myself down and then started to think of my goals and wrote them down on paper. My goal I said was to make my first dollar by month 3.
By the end of the month I realized that this is going to be not something you can work hard and fast on and expect results sooner. No this was something that you spent a lot of time on knowing that your actually more importantly learning and connecting with others to discuss, help and inspire yourself to keep going for the long run. That's what it's all about, planting your seeds now to reap the rewards in the future.
What I learnt on my first month
Staying focused and especially on your training. Training is KEY you dont want to write a whole post and not know that it should be about a keyword that's got a low QSR in your niche and needs to have at least over 50 views per month or else who are you writing to and maybe you might be drowned out by those who are writing about the same exact keyword as you are.
READ READ READ! Kyle, Nathaniell and Carson have some awesome recommended articles that should definitely be read when they send them to you. Eat, sleep and breathe information because it's what's going to make you successful in the long run so that you learn from others mistakes before you make them yourself.
Dont spend 5 minutes on something that should take a minute. If your looking for a niche dont spend 2 days on looking for one because it's going to be just as good as the one you would have picked in 10 minutes. Respect the time you have and put it too good use.
What to expect
After you have spent a month here you really just need to be expecting to write and research repeatedly. This is because for in order for you to rank on google you need to have a lot of content and it needs to have been there for a long time. Yes more content means better rankings but you do have to wait the standard time to be appealed and certified on to page 2 or 1 for instance and that can take longer than 5 months. So the more you put out now the more you will be receiving in the future.
It can and probably will get a little boring writing over 1000 words every day on the same product or niche so make sure you do something different that will also benefit you. Try asking some questions on the community or maybe go write up some feedback and comments and in return you can request some as well which also helps you to rank in google.
Expect to work hard. Like they say, you will never have to work a day in your life if you enjoy doing it. SO ENJOY DOING IT ! You have to work to reap a reward no matter where you work and there's nothing better than to work on a passive income job. That's what's worth investing time into !
What I have accomplished
Like a few others I am lucky to be born with a gift to just talk talk talk or in this case write write write. So writing 1000 words isn't a hard task for me. So my goal this month was to reach 20 000 words and I reached 14 000. So no, I didn't quite make it but I learnt you have to go back and edit stuff and create links once you sign up for affiliate programs in your niche.
So you can expect that you might not get exactly what you wanted to get done. I accomplished 50 comments in one day though which was impressive. I did this because I heard that if you do you get to make $0.5 for every second comment you make so that was worth it!
I created a good-looking website and learnt a lot and now know where I am going. That is my biggest accomplishment and I now look forward to completing my next goals for the month and I understand this might take more time than expected because google has high standards LOL.
My new goal is to make my first sale by the 4-month mark (which is still generous) but I believe hard work reaps good rewards.
