Barriers To My Success
My Nightmare
Just wanted to reach out to WA members and share my "story" and introduction to WA. I am a newbie here and learning as fast as I can. It is somewhat overwhelming. This tech stuff does not come easy to me, although the step by step courses are quite helpful. I have been "at this" for 30 years now. 10 years in NU Skin, another 7 in Melaleuca and 13 years in a plethora of other deals and squeals. Spent a hundred grand or two chasing the proverbial dream. Went bankrupt, lost my house, put my family thru hell and back because of my blind ambition.
Live & Learn
It is not in my nature to give up and perhaps thru the grace of God I have landed here. So having been introduced to the WA system I can reflect upon where I have been and the barriers to my success along the way. In other words how is WA different than what I have been through to date and what does the future hold for me here.
Rot or Taught
I never did really get the nuts and bolts training on how to build a business online in other ventures . It was always duplicate what the leaders are doing. If you couldn't you were left on the vine to rot and of course it was your fault for not following the training. Conversely the support at WA is about teaching the nuts and bolts - giving folks the skills to be independent and build their own successful business. If you run into challenges just ask and there is someone there to help you get unstuck not to mention the step by step video training. So you get taught rather than rot.
Buying Your Check
The cost of the other ventures was prohibitive for most families and it involved going into debt to stay in business. I had to spend $150-$200/mo just to stay qualified, not to mention the sales aids and costly trips to conventions several times a year. It was insane. But I was caught up in the culture, almost like a cult, and went into serious debt just trying to "be successful" and do what I was told it took to succeed there. Compare that to 50 bucks a month for a premium membership in WA which gives you access to all the services and tools you need to build a successful business.
.The Tyranny of Fear
Because I spent considerable money and a ton of time working hard at so many other failed ventures another obstacle to my success here is fear. My fear is I will put the time and effort into building a business (once again) and it willl not result in a responsible monthly income for my wife and I. I am amazed she is still with me with all I have put her thru. She had no idea what the pastor meant when he said "thru thick and thin" 35 years ago. (humor). I am now retired and live on a paltry pension which I would like to add to considerably in WA. A thirty year nightmare is hard to get rid of and it lingers there in the background like a malevolent shadow.
I read a comment from a member in the chat room and he said "it takes a year or two to really get rolling here". My reflection is I have been at this for 30 yrs without success, if I have to spend a year or so learning how to do it properly and successfully, sign me up! I spent 50 thousand dollars on my graduate and post graduate education and invested 15 years of classes to learn what I needed to learn to have a successful professional career.
Facing The Fear
I have learned that the antidote to fear is action. Small steps taken daily to advance you in the direction of your dreams. And that is what I am doing here. I drag that foreboding feeling along with me one step at a time, one day at a time. I heard a saying that applies here that I really like. It says when fear knocks at your door, let faith answer and there will be nobody there. I have failth in WA. I have failth in the WA community. I have faith in myself and my ability to persist.
Even though my grades were mediocre in highschool and my guidance counsellor told me I was most suited to factory work, and even though I failed a number of times in university I believed in myself and my ability and graduated with a Masters Degree. I was 42 at the time. Fear would say you don't want to be 82 by the time you “graduate” from WA do you? Whose that knockin??
In Conclusion
It is my commitment to follow the training step by step, learn how to do this successfully once and for all and build a lucrative business here with WA. An extra $2000/mo would change our lives. I have two wonderful adult children who I would like to be able to help out in their lives. My wife deserves the income and lifestyle of an enjoyable stress free retirement. And yes I do realize that is driectly dependent upon the effort and commitment I bring to this business. If its going to be, its up to me (and the whole damn WA community) :-) who are right there cheering me on every step of the way!

I am not sure what I can add to this story. It is a business and it takes time to make a success - time, effort, dedication. I don't believe in a quick luck.

One thing I can tell you is now that you have found WA, you are in the right place to learn how to properly build a business online. Everything you need is here, from the websites, hosting, research tools, live classes, training, community and support.
Unlike your MLM ventures in the past, you a re not going to be required to hustle others into it within the offline world. You can simply help people and point them in the direction of products/service they know they want or already need, and you are going to be very successful doing so (and in any niche).
The affiliate marketing world is an exciting one and one I have been operating within for the last 16 years full time. I know you are going to do great. Work hard, work through the training here, give yourself time succeed, and ask for help whenever you are stuck.
You are going to do amazing Terry and I really look forward to working with you!
Thank you for your encouraging words. I worked very hard for years in mlm and I will do so here Kyle. I love to learn and I will be an active participant in the WA community. I am not techie so I will need help along the way
