What is My Purpose in Life?
What is my Purpose in Life? Have you ever asked yourself that question or perhaps heard someone talking about their life purpose or calling...? There are some people that build their whole life careers on this subject, and it can go so deep and mind boggling at times...
Well, for the longest time I didn't feel like I had a Calling or Life purpose because I really don't have something "seemingly" worthwhile that I am passionate about... I recall that when I was at 1st grade, on the very 1st day, we had the morning session before break and I couldn't really wait to get out as the teacher, pretty and nice as she was, she was just rambling a whole lot. So break came and we went out to play, Boy! That was so much fun! Being an only child, I had never had as many people of my own age around as I had at that moment, so I was milking that moment for all it had... The bell rang and we went back to class and the teacher was not there so, after a few minutes I got everyone out of class and we went to play outside.

The teacher came back to an empty class and she had to fetch us from the school yard. She told us never to do that again, I just didn't understand why, as we were making good use of time having fun... As I grew up I did many different things I was never passionate about, some really boring and yet every now and then when I was engaged with people, sometimes sorting out issues they seemingly had, it felt good and I had fun...
Now that I am older, I have done many different things, it seems to me that I have found out what my calling is. I sincerely believe that my Calling or Life Purpose is to be Happy and have Fun. Please; I'd like to ask you, what do you believe your life Purpose is...?
Discovering your Life Purpose...
What is your life purpose?
Why?
Why?
Why?
It seems to me when your life Purpose is in Place - it doesn't matter what you do... [Please share your thoughts on this one... ]
I was listening to a song by Karen Drucker titled "Thank you for who I am" I realised that there was once a time in my youth, when I used to be grateful for what I have and I went through a stage where I was so grateful that I was grateful and then I just went to a place of just being Grateful, Gratitude became an everpresent feeling, like a cloak of Gratitude on me.
This reminds of the story of businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small village in an indian ocean island.
As he sat there, he saw a fisherman rowing a small boat to the shore. He noticed that the fisherman had caught a few large fish. Impressed the businessman asked the fisherman, “How long did it take you to catch so many fish?”
The fisherman replied, “Oh, not long about an hour.”
“Why don’t you stay longer and catch more fish?” Asked the businessman amazed.
The fisherman answered “This will be enough to feed my whole family and to share with anyone who needs it”
The businessman asked, “What will you be doing for the rest of the day?”
The fisherman replied, “ Normally, I wake up early in the morning, go out to sea, catch some fish, go back home to play with my kids. My wife and I relax together in the afternoon, and then, in the evening I join my friends in the village for a drink and some music and dance.
The businessman cleared his throat and said:
“Look, I have a degree in business management, I can help you to be more successful. You need to spend more time fishing and catch as much fish as possible so that you can sell it and make lots of money and buy a bigger boat to catch even more fish. You will then be able to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned fish and distribution network. You can then move out of the village to the city where you can build a Head Office to manage all your other branches.
The fisherman enquired: “What will I then do after that?”
Elated the businessman said: “Well, after that, the world is your oyster , you get to live like a king in your own home, when the time is right, you can launch your company on the Stock Market, and you will be rich.”
The fisherman asked, “What happens after that?”
The businessman answered, “You then finally retire and move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids, have a lovely afternoon with your wife, and in evenings, you can join your friends in the village for a drink, music and dance!”
Puzzled the fisherman said: “Is that not what I am doing now?”

Hi Kimberleigh, I love the fisherman story. I am sure he is happier than the rich businessman.
I ask God, to whisper in my ear and explain the reason why I am still here.
Thank you for the share Kimberleigh,
Michael
Thanks for reading Michael!
They both could be happy...
One can be rich and very happy.
