Marketing your autobiography
It was ten years ago that I started writing my life story.
I had been putting it off for so long with the excuse that I havn't finished my life yet.
I made lot's of excuses like a lot of people do and searched for people who would help me.
Sometimes I would get enthusiastic and write a chapter then I would be off on one of my many trips to Africa or Asia. and forget about it.
I have a wonderful friend who lives in Nigeria, he would connect with me on Facebook and ask me, " Have you written your book yet?
Now I am asking you, Have you written your book yet?
Everyone has their own unique story just waiting to get out there and encourage other people.
It is only because of this friend's encouragement that I have actually finished my book.
How did I get motivated to finish my book?
I decided to take some time out specifically to finish writing my book in a beautiful place I call my home in Australia.
This is my 'Heaven on Earth' and I have been here for three months now.
My other 'Heaven on Earth' is in Kenya, where I have had most of my exciting adventures.
I found that writing my book was really the beginning of another adventure.
An adventure into the cyber world that has been so very exciting and interesting.
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate a few months ago I didn't realise how much I didn't know.
I had built some rather amature websites in the past but never realised I could do so much better.
I call this a family because I have met so many interesting and helpful people here at Wealthy Affiliate that it has been life changing for me.
Many of them helped me to get my book published on Amazon and I learned how to market my book better through social media.
So, its not just about writing a book but also learning how to market the book after it is published and that I have learned on my continuing journey of self awareness and self discovery.
These are some of my fiends in Kenya taken about ten years ago when I lived amongst the people in a remote village.

Thanks for sharing, my wife and I started to write our life stories and they are still a work in progress in the laptop. Most of my spare moments are spent here working and building my business at W.A. I may consider taking a month out later in the year to try to complete mine. I want to perservere with my time here at W.A.at least until end of March. Pleased to hear you have completed your book, will look out for it when I have time. Wishing you success!

That’s an awesome accomplishment. I’ve always wanted to write a book, but not necessarily an autobiography. I’m quite sure my life has not been the adventure that yours has!

What a beautiful summary!
For the moment I don't have any book, but I work
with autism children and other with other dysfunctions
and I also cure the voice of Opera singer maybe I will
write a book about all this one day or another.

Hi Sylvia,
It’s funny that I just read your blog because I’ve always had an idea in my head about a novel I wanted to write. I thought it always sounded like a crazy dream but in the past few months I’ve been seeing things on tv and in social media about writing your own book.
I have no experience whatsoever in writing or how I should even start but just yesterday I saw that many of my posts made it to the 1st page of Google and I think I got the encouragement I needed to feel like I could still follow this dream of mine.
The signs are everywhere to me to do it and I’ll be moving to a small town next month so I feel it’s just the place to finally take that leap.
If you have any words of wisdom you can share with me about writing a first book or even information on publishing, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

First of all I would like to offer you a free copy of my book called One Life.
Getting away to a small town sounds like your first step.
Congratulations! Everything in life starts with a thought and then a decision and an action.
I was able to outsource some of my work once I had it finished by using Upworks for editing, proofreading and formatting. All of that cost me around $300 Au.
I am now getting it translated into Spanish and other languages again through outsourcing..

I actually have five books written and published, but have never written my life story. I have had many adventures, but there is always another adventure happening.
Actually, wrote one book that covered 20+ years of my life, so have done part of it...lol...
Sounds like you will have a really good book when you are finished,with all your travels and adventures. I'll look for it when you tell us it's out.

Thank you Sylvia, I seen you when you arrived here at WA and ya I am writing my book but not in a conventional way. All my work on my website will be documented because really it is my life's work .
Help yes always in need of that but mostly in writing because I am not a writer I need an editor. But some one that is willing to work for free. (O:
Helped a friend from south Sudan write her story called My Resilience..........had lots of fun helping her. Maybe you have heard the of the book the Lost Boys of Sudan . Some of them made there way to Canada and we are very good friends.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day

I haven't heard of that book but I will do a search and take a look.
I don't think I am a very good writer but I did ask friends along the way to give me their comments and that really helped Then I did do some outsourcing at the end. It's been an interesting journey, now WA is part of that.
