A Warning about Drip Email Auto Responder

I just wanted to write about my experience with Drip. I saw that they were offering free autoresponder services for the first 100 subscribers so I thought I'd give them a shot. I registered and went back in to complete the setup only to find my "site" had been shut down.

When I asked why I received this response:

"Hi Stacy,

Gabe here from Drip support. I'm sorry you've run into this issue as I understand this would be a source of frustration when you're getting set up.

We have blocked the sending on your account for now after we detected some potential issues with our Terms of Service based on the content of your website and emails. Specifically, it seems that your content violates the User Guidelines of our Terms of Service:

> You agree not to send emails with the following content (sorry, it's due to the abnormally high rates of spam complaints): offers to sell illegal goods, sexually explicit material, sex advice, adult-related products or services, drugs or pharmaceutical products or information, credit/debt-related products, services or opportunities, dating/escorts, stock trading, forex trading or similarly related "trading" content, gambling/betting products or services, network or multi-level marketing, affiliate marketing, loans, mortgages, nutritional or herbal supplements, make money online and work from home opportunities, free product or free sample giveaways, claim your money/benefit/assistance or similar, and property/real estate listing notifications.

If you need to send out emails about making money online and work from home opportunities, you will need to find a different email service provider as we cannot allow you to send those out from Drip.

If you have any other questions, please let me know, Stacy.

Best,

Gabe"

When I refuted that stating I hadn't even completed my account setup, much less sent an email so how could I be in breach of the TOS, I receive this:

"Initially, we were unable to access a live site at (mysite). When we cannot reach a live site (it's hosted here on WA) we automatically block the sending on an account as we need to be able to review the content one intends to send from Drip. As you saw in my previous email there are certain niches we don't allow to send email from Drip as we find them high-risk.

When reviewing your account I did see that your site was live, but unfortunately, I also saw that the content did not fit with our terms of service, I'm afraid, leading to a confirmation that the sending block could not be lifted.

I hope this provides a bit of clarity and please let me know if you have any questions"

I explained that this is simply a review site where I review technologies (such as Drip) and work at home opportunities to help people not fall for scams or sign up for services that won't work. Their response was "we stand behind our decision"

I guess the silver lining here is, sometimes new content falls in your lap. So if you are looking for an autoresponder to promote your affiliate site, stay away from Drip because you will be banned.

Thank you for the heads up it seems that Drip is quite pedantic better to find out at the beginning rather than put energy into that list only to be shut down when you are gaining momentum.

Thanks for the heads up! The same thing happened to me with Mailerlite!
