The Initial Content on a Website - My Experience
Hey everybody!
A couple months ago a started a new website about decorating rooms like a 24/7 party. So far I've just been laying the groundwork for the whole thing. There are only five posts on my site as of now, but they're almost like the cornerstone posts and there's a lot more to learn than I thought.
Here's some advice for the beginning stages of website content: start with some relevant idea (it doesn't matter what) and start researching it. Whenever you come to a concept that gives you the feeling that you'll never understand it or that you're out of your league, open up a new Word document (or whatever you write with) and start researching this new topic. Repeat this process until you feel comfortable writing an entire article about your current concept.
At this point, you should have a pretty fundamental post that can be leveraged to write more posts. Plus, whenever you refer to this concept in the future, you can just refer people to your article instead of explaining it all over again.
As an example, I started researching ways to hang up lights in a room and then, six or seven concepts later, I ended up writing a post about how electricity works. You can't get much more fundamental than that.

Hey Isaac this 'content breakdown' strategy works. You have an article say with 10 points and then write a separate post on each of the 10 points. Making sure that you apply internal links to all the articles. Google loves this and will reward you as a result. Wishing you well.
