Learning WordPress, or Just Learning in General
I have a website up and running and posted my first blog. This has been a big challenge for me to do so much writing. My main problem with WordPress is that so much is already programmed into the theme and I can't figure out how to change some things.
I started out using FrontPage long ago and then moved to Expression Web for creating websites, so I pretty much had to do all the design myself. I enjoyed that, but I had to leave the program behind when I left my job. And I have always thought that I would need to learn WordPress some day anyway.
So here I am, continuing to learn at the ripe old age of 66. I figure that learning keeps the brain active even though sitting here does not keep my body active. I will have to schedule time for that too.
I feel that I am making progress and now need to learn more about getting my website viewed more. I am enjoying the process, especially since I am beginning to see progress.

Well done. I know starting anything when you are mature can be daunting, but it sounds like you are doing a great job and the main thing is to enjoy your journey and enjoy helping others. So keep up the good work.

Congratulations! Yay!! Keep being the little engine that could. :) As to not getting physical exercise. Get yourself a bicycle and ride. Lol. Clears the mind and exercises the body. :)
Thanks. Bicycle? I do have one of those although it is a little dusty. :-) I have to ride it out on the gravel country roads that go up and down a lot and I need someone to teach me how to use the gears. I just don't understand how they are supposed to work. One time I stopped to rest near a water tank for cattle and all of a sudden I heard something that sounded like a stampede. It must have been time for them to be fed. I was glad there was a fence. It would have been a good time to have a video camera with me. Just thought I would share that with you for fun.
Yeah that's it. The one with 2 wheels, usually a hard seat and dust all over it. And if you haven't used it for a while.
.maybe flat tires. :) I don't use the gears a lot but I guess you are supposed to change them while you are peddling. It sort of sounds and feels like you hit a pothole..but your gear is changed. Some gears make it easier peddling uphill. Nothing makes it easier peddling uphill with my arthritic knees. Country roads are the best. Not as much traffic...except for cattle that is. Lol. A bear went across the road in front of me one day. Naturally I stopped and let her cross to be polite. I was polite a little longer after she crossed before I went hastily on my way. :) Have a good day!
