How I Kept Going With So Many Distractions. You Can Too!
I'll admit I am guilty of falling prey to too many distractions. I have a pretty busy life even though I don't work a traditional J.O.B. anymore. I retired myself as a fire alarm technician and electrician a few years ago after a horrible bout of menengitis in my early 40's. I learned a lot of lessons from that ordeal mostly being that all of us are just mortal beings.
I was like everyone else, sitting in grid lock traffic behind a sea of cars inching towards work in California traffic. Then something happened. I had a bright idea and sold my house, my truck and bought a Camaro and drove across the country to North Carolina to start a new life with 50k in the bank from the proceeds from my house sale. I had everything lined up, a new job, six months on a lease to a house and I was more than excited. Except one thing. I was losing focus and feeling queasy. I could not concentrate on anything and eventually lost my job in NC.
One night I collapsed and paramedics took me to the hospital where the docs told my wife I may not make it the next couple days. I survived but for the past ten years I have struggled with memory issues, concentration problems and staying on tasks. But I learned something from all of this. I am here for a reason and that may just be to see my son to adulthood. And to not give up on my own dreams.
My reason for saying this is because almost three years ago I started on this platform and with all the distractions my life faces each day I still press on with the Wealthy Affiliate and my website. I now have had my membership payed for by my awesome referrals for over six months. I offer to help them when I can and know that without them I would not be seeing success here. It also gives me something to keep pushing forward.
If you feel down and out and just don't see any light at the end of the tunnel, I say tell yourself you can. Because if I can keep going and building my website anyone can. The membership cost? It's nothing. Seriously. And if you get just two referrals it's paid for. If you have a disability you can still do this from home. Its that easy to do. Stay motivated and keep telling yourself you are worth it. Because you are. We all are!
PS. And if you comment here please shout out a Happy Birthday to my awesome son Josh who just turned 16 today! Thanks!

Hello David and Big Happy Birthday to Josh! Our daughter just turned 18... It's really cool seeing them grow... And then they become teens... Lol There is light at the end of that teen tunnel.
I love to see the world thru their eyes... Totally Awesome!
Just want to say Thank You for sharing your story. I too deal with a disabling disease and all the peachy things it brings with it.
Like you said... "If I can You can too!" You and your family are an inspiration to us all! Keep on Keepin on! :)
