Time Management

It is only my second day as a Premium member here at WA. This week has started out on the crazy busy side. Family life. Often, I wondered how I did it, when I had the business, and my partner and I were putting in crazy hours. It seems like we are more busy now!

Now, I have this new goal. New project. New business. I have so many ideas, which seem to come as I am driving (I do a lot of driving, as we live 15 minutes from town). But no sooner I sit on the computer, to dive into more WA training, family life enters. I get a call for a specialist that we have been waiting for months for. The child comes in, and wants to play. My other half wants to know what's for dinner.

Now, I am locking the office door. Which, then the dog starts to whine, because she wants in..... and then child starts to knock.... which causes my other half to yell at the child to leave me alone..... then child starts to argue that he needs daddy's help...... haaha! I do love my family, and the chaos it sometimes brings. :)

I have started to wait until evening, when the dog is asleep, and my other half is busy doing something...... But sometimes, I have the creative urge to brainstorm, and get things out on paper (or in this case, on screen). I know I will figure this out, and my family will follow suit.

I would love to hear how some of you wonderful WAs juggle family life, work life, and personal life..... any creative strategies?

Good Morning Todd,

We all struggle with these things.
I am retired so I can do what I want right? wrong! I still have to clean, cook, animals, better half, garden, my private friends etc.

WA is taking up a lot of my time. 2Websites, Pinterest, FB you name it. I set myself a daily timetable and try to stick to it.

Before breakfast, I do WA, messages etc. Afternoon some more and try to dedicate 1 hour to writing for my websites. There I need peace and quiet to be able to concentrate well.

In the evening after dinner, tv film is on in the background I do FB and Pinterest as that does not need 100% concentration.
Anyhow, you will find out what best works for you.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Good morning Taetske,

Great advice!

In fact, I am already implementing it as I am working through WA right now with a cup of coffee at hand, before breakfast. I would usually be at the TV, catching up with the news.

I am going to start creating an agenda (timetable) every morning, for the day's tasks as well.

Great minds think a like. :)

Thank you Taetske for sharing. Cheers from Canada!

Great post!
I have had a similar struggle juggling life and still being productive. In fact I am 6 months in and only now getting to grips with my time management!
Working long hours doing a manual job with an hour commute didn't help me either! Plus my little one coming up 2 years old now he's very demanding of me and my time! Extremely tiring for all involved haha.
For me currently I am actually going to my mothers house a couple evenings a week so I can work in peace - shes normally Netflix bingeing so I can work in peace. Its literally the only quiet time I get, other than the gym. But when at home I will be waking up before everyone else (I am a morning person so 5am starts are natural to me anyway).

Everyone is different and has various distractions going on. I guess its just a case of doing what you can, when you can until you find out what works for you.

A huge welcome to W.A premium too. And the best of luck with finding that time for the magic to happen...

All the best
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for sharing what works for you! Escaping the house sounds like a wonderful idea. I may just grab the laptop, and escape to a shady spot on the beach nearby!

My commute to the city can take up to 3 hours one way, if the ferry is running on time. It's an extremely long day, and I am glad I don't have to do it every day.

Thanks again Daniel! Cheers! :)
