Blog or discussion?

I recently posted a blog, but now realize that maybe I should have made it a discussion instead. So let's look at the difference between a blog and a discussion.

Blog:

A blog is more of an informative article meant to cause the reader to stop and think, or possibly learn something new. There might be a little bit of interaction, but mostly just information.

Discussion:

A discussion has a slightly greater reach, but mostly a more directed audience. When you start a discussion, you select which classroom to post it in. So it's a little more focused, but reaches the proper audience.

Regardless of which one you do, both will be accessible through the search box at the top of the screen. The important thing is that if it has value to the community, get it out there!

God bless,

If it is something that I am going to be wanting to reference back easily in the future at any point I always make it a blog because I can get to those from within my profile area whereas I have forever lost discussion questions I have made from months and months ago and still can't get the search bar to pick them up.

So in general I would say if you have a question on how to do something specifically then I would use a discussion but if you want opinions, thoughts, ideas etc. I would always use a blog post so you can find it when you want it =) That's how i do it at least. And of course use a blog for any information that you want to share with the community as a whole or rant about or rave about etc.

That's some great information.
Thanks Autumn,
