CREATIVE WRITING FOR ENTREPRENEURS: The series that will make you fall in love with writing!
And here we are! Would you ever have imagined—just a few years ago—that today you could spit out hundreds of pages in a few seconds? Pretty cool, right?
Too bad that in a couple of months nobody will read them anymore.
Google will hate you and bury your site, your fellow WA members will judge you silently while still writing “nice post” under your articles without ever reading them, and you’ll wonder why—despite publishing 150 posts—the only visitors you get are your mom, your sister, and a random nephew who already considers you a “boomer” 🙂
Terrifying, right? :) But it doesn’t have to be that way—because from today on, you and I are going to do something fun, something that will slowly bring back the joy of writing with your own mind and your own ideas, using words that only you could ever say. And at that point, I’m almost sure your three readers will turn into… many, many more!
You’ve probably already read some of my “spiritual-chic” posts on WA (lol!), but today I’ll reveal a new secret about me: I studied Italian Literature at one of the oldest universities in Italy (Padua), and later I took a course in Creative Writing.
For years, writing was my one great love.
I devoured books like candy and wrote short stories about the life I was living. Then, life took me in directions that didn’t really represent me at all. But today, thanks to my business, I’ve rediscovered my passion for writing.
And now I want to take you—virtually—into a creative writing class, so you can see how aspiring writers actually work on their texts.
MY CREATIVE WRITING CLASS: The gym for your writing abs
The class was small, maybe ten people at most. You had to truly love writing and have some guts too, because everyone was asked to read their stories out loud.
It might sound a bit cruel, but it was the ultimate gym: the place where you learned how your words actually landed on other people.
Every single word was dissected. For example, if you wrote that your character was twenty years old, the teacher and the group would analyze whether the slang and tone in the dialogue really sounded like something a twenty-year-old would say. Stuff like that!
The most important lesson I learned? Words are PURE ENERGY. They carry an incredible charge that turns into emotions and entire worlds unfolding right before your eyes.
So… how can we apply this to your business writing?
Every business is built by people, for people. It’s them we’re talking to, presenting ideas to, and hoping to help.
Recently, neuroscientists at Princeton discovered that human brains emit and receive extremely low-frequency electromagnetic waves, creating a global “neural network” that connects all conscious minds.
Individual brains actually generate coherent field patterns that can influence other brains up to 10,000 kilometers away.
Now you understand how crucial it is that your words feel congruent with your personality—and not robotic duplicates. Because otherwise, you simply lose that “connection” with your readers.
So tomorrow we start with the first creative writing exercise! I’ll be waiting for you—because it’s going to be fun, we’ll laugh a lot, and in the end, we’ll all know each other a little better!

Romy this is gonna be fun. I always throw my heart and soul into writing even if half the time it looks like a trucker scribbling on napkins at a rest stop while Bigfoot’s stealing my pen and asking when the next book’s dropping.
One of my favorite lines I dug up from Italian lit still fires me up: “The poet’s purpose is to arouse wonder … he who doesn’t know how to astonish should go work in the stables.” That’s the fire I chase every time I write make people feel it or don’t bother.
And now Bigfoot won’t stop bugging me wondering why Italian literature still hasn’t let us in with our big bacini lol.

Romy, you’re too kind to me. I’ll definitely be part of your class. My writing is a lot like me, and I think that’s why it hits the way it does. Writing has always been my outlet I dig deep and mold what’s inside me into words on paper. I’d be lost without it. You’ve been such a big part of helping me harness that, and I’d be honored to write alongside you.
I’ve still got so much to learn, and I don’t have a lot of schooling just a lot of heart that connects with others. That’s why I’m so interested in learning more and can’t wait to see what you’ve got going. I’m always in your corner, my friend. My word is my bond, and you can count on that.

I don't know if this short story will help, Romy.
My first website was back in 2004, which was professionally built for my off-line business. It cost precisely £1000! When the designer said to me that I had to write the content for my website, I was shocked! I haven't written any content since I was at school!
However, it is amazing how things change, especially for someone who really didn't know what to write, even though I can spell fairly well. So, the moral of the story is that I used to struggle to write, but now it comes naturally, or at least I think it does! It just shows what we can do when we practice and learn, etc, as we go.

The only way to refine the writing skills (let's remember that writing is actually an art form) is by writing! there is no other shortcut!
