Honestly, your best bet is to simply follow the lessons. There is always temptation to jump ahead and start asking all kinds of questions, but often the answers just lead to more questions, which won't always make sense without some basic knowledge.

The lessons are structured in a way that takes you along slowly and teaches you all you need to know. Everything you will need is in there, though if something is unclear, of course you can and should ask for help.
