Hi friends,

I am bit stuck here and seeking your kind advice on below.... This refers to the training on Level 2 lesson 9.

I completed the authorship settings for mak

Authorship is no longer valid for Google.
Ken

Hi Kenny, yeah I just learned it from a fellow WA. Appreciate your response. Thanks!

Hey Subo, I think Google actually killed Authorship a few months ago, and all the training here dealing with it was a while before that. So as far as I know it doesn´t work for anyone anymore, it´s not just you.

Here´s a story about that, by the way. http://www.forbes.com/sites/johnrampton/2014/08/29/end-of-google-authorship/

Thanks Joaquin! I didn't know about it until now, so I will not waste my time further on Authorship. Instead I will invest time on structured markup etc. Thanks again!

No problem :)

It's my understanding that it might take a day or two for the robot to get around to recognizing your site. Give it a little bit of time to catch up or recycle back to where you are.

Hi Terry, Thanks for your response. It is almost 2 days now but I will give it some more time. Also I noticed there is a error reported in Rich Snippet tool under Extracted Structured Data section as below. Any thoughts?

Error: Missing required field "updated".
Error: Missing required hCard "author".

No. I got that too, though. I'm sure someone will know the answer soon for you. It might just be waiting for more content/traffic to the site to rate it or something. You can always use the "classrooms" link over on the left side, type in the question and if there has been someone else with the same problem, the answer might be there. Also check out the "Live Video Classes" section. These are all of Jay's old video training seminars and I know that he covers the Google Authorship part there. Sorry I don't have the answer for you. I just quit worring about Google for now. They keep changing things around, it's hard to keep track. What was good last week, they change next week. Too much aggravation for me. >: / Good luck.

Thanks again Terry. Sure, I will check in the training sections that you specified. btw/ I've changed the WP Theme just now and I cannot see those errors anymore but it hasn't fixed my original issue. Strange! I am not sure whether it is related to specific themes.

This probably has nothing to do with the issue, but have you gotten to setting up your site maps yet? That may also have something to do with things. I'm glad it works for your new theme though.

Hi folks,

This is about including keywords in title and first 2 paragraphs of a post to get a better ranking in Google (lesson 7 of level 2 training). Appreciate if someone

Both are the same as far as Google is concerned.
Ken

Thank you Ken!

it is true that the technique is the same. But there is also the functional difference between pages and posts. As you know, pages are more static and don't change as much while posts are dynamic and new ones are posted all the time. The continual posting of new material adds to the health of your site and builds site trust with Google. And this factors in as well. Good luck

Thanks PastorTae! So if I want to talk about different related areas about a single product (mainly to educate the viewers about the subject prior making a purchasing decision) would it be advisable to include all those knowledge areas in to a single post rather than split them in to separate pages?

inter-linking within your site is a good thing. Some will tell you not to overdue it because Google seems to not like it. But I believe that inter-linking between posts and pages and even old posts to new posts is important. Also use the "categories" and the other "search" slots on your sidebar and make comments to your visitor to type topics to find things to gain further information. And so, with each post, you should create multiple categories. And soon, your website becomes a library of information with a good data-base-catalog system. Good luck.

Got the idea. Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs PastorTae!

anytime. I wish you much success

Yes, the technique is the same for posts and pages!

Hi Trialynn, thanks a lot for clarifying! Much appreciated.
