Father-In-Law?
Having survived the visiting relatives, the new in-laws, the rehearsal dinner, the wedding, and the sendoff of all of the above and other than a few new gray hairs. All and all, I believe I am doing great.
I wanted to share a couple of personal photos that my daughter has approved for distribution before her returning from her honeymoon in beautiful Hawaii.
Wedding Vows
Our Son and Daughter with Grandparents (Married 57 Years)
Becoming a father-in-law has required my utilization of talents I possessed but did not need to use at home between my wife and daughter. My bride of thirty plus years will need to adjust to our strong-willed daughter forging a path with her new husband.
There is much excitement to come, and I hope grandchildren are on the horizon. My daughter's new surname is Brown. I hope Charlie or Leroy Brown are not choices for a grandson. We will see.
My daughter is a planner, and a recent request was to provide our grandparent names. The in-laws already picked theirs, so I chose Pappy and my bride of thirty plus years has planned on Nee Nee. If it only worked that way.
We have all kinds of things to learn as a father-in-law and mother-in-law and much like when we were married thirty plus years ago; there is no training, just the school of hard knocks.
Wish us luck on our new journey. I love being fifty plus going on fifteen.
Thanks, Jay

Jay you have a beautiful daughter. As for the new roles, you will fall into them pretty easily, I know from experience to follow the lead of the strong willed daughter and all will be fine. The wedding pictures are lovely and I am sure when the rest are approved for release, they will be as amazing as these 3.
Mary
Mary, thanks and my daughter is much like my mother. Yes, waiting for approval from the boss. :) J
I'm sure you'll do just fine in your new roles. Your daughter is a beautiful bride!

Elaine
Elaine, it is strange going 2 days without a call from my daughter but we will adjust. Thanks, J
Thanks for sharing Jay!
What a great looking couple, both the young ones and the older ones!
Good luck with the grandparent names, the babies will get their own say on that!
All the best.
KyleAnn
KyleAnn, I agree that the kids will decide not us on grandparent names but our daughter wants everything tied with a bow. :) J
I'm sure you'll do just fine considering that you have many life experiences from which to draw, Jay. Congrats on being a Father-in-Law! You have a lovely family and many adventures ahead. I wish you loads of fun and plenty of wisdom for any challenges that arise. :)

Good Morning Jay,
Thank you for sharing the lovely photos. Your daughter and her husband form a very handsome couple
In Holland Nee Nee means No No so you might think of settling on Ja JA which means Yes Yes. As far as I know, that is what grandparents are to their grandchildren.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Taetske, thanks for your kind comments and perhaps I should be Ja Ja and my bride of 30 years Nee Nee. I like that. J
