We never know what will happen to us, and I have always believed in flexibility in living life. It has been nearly two (2) years since I wrote my last blog, posted on my personnel website. Recently I have felt the need to schedule some time each day to work on goals I set a few years ago with Wealthy Affiliate (WA), so here I am.I joined Wealthy Affiliate a few years ago when my professional life fell apart with a personnel goal to prepare a website based side gig to offset the income loss I ex

Last week I traveled to California for business and had to stop at Target to pick up a few things and was surprised to find that no plastic bags were hanging on the self-service lanes. I had to search my fifty plus going on fifteen gray matter, and I remembered that California had outlawed plastic bags recently so carried my merchandise out in my hands.I believe in being environmentally conscious, but at the same time I am a realist, so I am curious about the impact of not using plastic bags in

There is much talk about disruption and chaos in business and last week there was one bit of news that was not a shock but disappointing, and the report was that Sears Holdings had become a penny stock. I must wonder when the stock delisting will occur much like the delisting of General Electric.Again, I believe this is not news to anyone but how could a company that was too big to fail become a shadow of itself during the 21st century and not takes advantage of the signs of business disruption

Another weekend is here and my bride of thirty plus years and daughter are heading to St. Louis to see the Broadway show Love Never Dies which is a sequel to The Phantom Of The Opera. I am home alone with my canine furbabies Scrappy, Roxy, and Desi Lu watching an old television series due to an inflamed sciatic nerve.Over the past few years, I find that I do not like to watch television series as broadcast, and it seems as though I am not the only person that prefers using this methodology of v

Recently, the longest-serving nuclear submarine USS Bremerton (SSN-698) went into reserve service after nearly 40 years of service. How times have changed since her launch in 1978 and commisioning in 1981, but we all deal with change. In the early 80s, submarines did not have vertical launch tubes, used optical periscopes, utilized disk drives the size of dorm refrigerators, and the crew watched movies using a projector. The Los Angelos Class Submarine was state of the art, and the USS Bremerton

I am fifty plus going on fifteen, and one of the biggest challenges I have dealt with my entire life is finding my niche. Sure, I am employed, have a multi-topic niche website, enjoy specific hobbies but determining what I want to do when I grow up has always alluded me.In 2018, I have spent much time working with my bride of thirty plus years to developing her niche of paracord crafts, and I am proud of how she has been able to concentrate on building her local presence and during the winter o

Once upon a time in a land far, far away, if you wanted to learn about something, you selected and picked up an ivory, green, and gold key to the world called the World Book Encyclopedia. It was much more fun than a dictionary, it was better than a thesaurus, it had a slick texture when you flipped pages, and a unique smell although it was a book. With every new year, you would receive a book for the past year and apply labels in the original books referencing you to the new yearbook.Initially p

We have come a long way in customer service and expectations since I was a child and the rate of disruption appears to be increasing with no end in sight. It seems like only yesterday, if I wanted to purchase something or required assistance, I would need to wait for available business hours and if not in the local area it could take days or weeks to fulfill my need. Many of you do not remember blue laws where stores were not open on Sundays, floating checks a couple of days before payday becau

Incredible that nearly 30 years ago this young lady entered my life and tomorrow she will be joining the love of her life in marriage. There has been much water under the bridge from boo-boos to emergency room visits and the loss of pets to the loss of boyfriends and though it all I have been a shoulder to lean on.The wedding will have less than 100 attendees based on Ali's desire to have a small ceremony. My bride of thirty plus years have been round and round on this, but in all, they met dow
