My New Love - Affiliate Marketing

Today, on this day of love, I feel the need to declare my deep feelings for affiliate marketing. :) It has been 10 days since I went premium, and I am impressed with how I have been able to stick with it and everything that I have accomplished so far.

The step by step program and the ability to see very tangible results so quickly, plus the reassurance that I am indeed moving in the right direction has been invaluable.

I really don't think I would have been able to do it without Wealthy Affiliate, in fact I know I couldn't. I have tried many times in the past to make money online, find my way, figure it out. I have always wondered if I was heading in the right direction, gotten bored or discouraged by my lack of success.

And ultimately given up or moved on to something else.

A Tumultuous Relationship

I've had a difficult relationship with online business, I discovered Shopify shortly after my second son was born, 3 years ago, and was convinced I had found what I was looking for and would be wildly successful.

Well, store after store, business after business, I failed. Not because I wasn't working hard or dedicated. But because I did not have a clear path. I would get excited about a business idea, hit a few bumps or lose my way, get discouraged and wonder if it was just a case of hanging in there, or if I was even headed in the right direction, to begin with.

As a last-ditch effort, I hired an agency to create my online store and online presence. I thought to go big or go home. I reasoned if I could just get it right from the beginning, and had the guidance I needed, I could be successful. Once again, things did not go my way. This seemingly reputable agency took my money and the money of hundreds of other people and did not deliver.

To say we could not afford to lose the money is an understatement, I gambled away a huge chunk of our savings on something I thought would be a sure thing. I actually to this day, still can't believe anyone would do that to another human being.

But in the end, I've had to put it behind me and move on. With the encouragement of my husband and my dream of being able to stay home, to be there for my kids and also make money and live a life still very real to me, I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate.

And Then Another Caught My Eye...

I was actually researching another blogging course. But unwilling to invest a huge amount of money into the unknown again, I decided to give Wealthy Affiliate a try.

And I am really happy that I did.

In a very short amount of time, I have a website, a blog with articles written by me on a subject that I am passionate about and a newfound sense of purpose that I really, really needed. My husband affectionate calls me "his little blogger." And while I know he is making fun of me just a little bit :) I don't care.

Just a few days after creating my first blog post, I was indexed in Google. Which I am told is something to celebrate and today I was accepted into my first affiliate program.

The first of many firsts to come. And now that I have a path and real direction, I will be unstoppable.

And I owe it all to Wealthy Affiliate and to all of you who make up this community, who have welcomed me, encouraged me, answered my questions and asked the questions before me.

I'm really happy to be here.

Happy to be a part of something.

And I can't wait to see what happens next.
