Learning To Unproperly Fail

I have been in limbo ever since 2007 at the age of 26. I started multiple businesses from that time until 2013. I spent thousands of $$$ trying to make the best life I possibly could and I knew I wanted to be financially free and support my family of a wife and 5 daughters...YES, 5 LOL. all the more reason to relieve myself from slavery in the job department right? Well, one of the first mistakes I made in properly failing was trying to build a business without a job. I had no experience like most entrepreneurs starting out on to successfully change my life. I ran into a great deal of difficulty as I will create the proper staircase on how to improperly fail and make the same mistakes that I did!

  1. Do NOT build a business without income ESPECIALLY if you have immediate family!

I was laid off of my job and was so tired of working for other people that controlled me that I decided to launch a business.

Well, no experience will create some experience, right? And that's exactly what happened, My household went through some serious hardships because of my well intentioned but naïve decisions. My wife was a great help during this time,,,I just want to say that she was tough and also tough on me. Sometimes we need to hear what we don't want to hear! She was very wise in helping me be a man that could provide for his family and still pursue my goals, Some people can afford to start a business if they have no immediate responsibilities and I encourage you to do so but also know that this is not an overnight thing. You must take care of your family first and then pursue your dreams...this is the greatest sacrifice!

2. You MUST Love What You Are Pursuing.

There is so much that has happened with this business venture, some funny and some I have to make funny because it hurt so much but I will stick to the point and speak on these later, cool? So I started a candle business and as previously mentioned, I suffered some serious setbacks and heartache but through it, I also learned that it wasn't something I truly desired to do. I knew I was baby to the independent income life so I just chalked it up as "growing" through my learning curves...I say growing and not going because everything consists of growth, whether backwards or forwards. Do not do things just to do them, have a purpose, create some goals, KNOW why you are creating the life you are creating and it will add immense value to it.

3. Do NOT EVER Say I Tried!

Now, 6 businesses and 6 years later...I didn't have a business every year, some of them were actually in the same yea and just so happened to stick with some longer than most, lol. I did some reflecting and also a voice from my other half asking me what the hell happened to all the businesses I started but didn't finish. Yeah Bredell, what happened? I could only answer,"I tried, but they didn't work". Let me explain something...when you say you are trying, you are giving yourself the opportunity to feel sorry yourself and make an excuse if you do not succeed! Please let that sink in. WA is not my first runner up, I know you all can see that I started this business 3 years ago. I came back not because I gave up like I did all the other ones but because I found what I knew would be the beginning of the end but started off being the ending that started my beginning...the beginning of something great. I was determined to see this one through but I had setbacks and financial difficulties that could not be avoided. But through it all, WA was not going to be the business were I claimed to have tried but it didn't work. Things work what you MAKE work! The last 3 years, WA has been at the forefront of my mind and if I could show you how ecstatic I was to begin again, we would all be partying for 3 days straight...sounds like something we need to work towards huh

This blog is for those who have gone, is going, or/and will or thinking about going through. Learn from my mistakes people. It will save you countless dollars and sense. If you have been through this, I know you can agree and can aslo add some golden nuggets on how to improperly fail.

Cheers to greatness and see you all at the top,

Bredell.

Brendell. Thanks for sharing your experiencing man. Just keep a fire and drive for something...WA or not. Once the passion and fire is gone, then what? I am glad you came back. I just started WA for the same reasons as you. I have only been focused on it for a month, so it's not like I am seeing any monetary reward. Yet I keep with this construct of a "modern business models" and grow with the times.

I feel as long as we learn the tricks to keywords and write engaging content that connects with people, and that people will share online with other people, the more our visions for ourselves will evolve and fulfill us for the betterment of our lives.

Still, keep your family first of course. Make it all work somehow. Stay diligent in what you want and keep the fire alive.

Chris
