Apologies in advance for asking newbie questions but here goes.
1. Why have I got 2 search boxes and how do I get rid of one of them?
2. Why is the not a place to ask questions at the bottom of my posts and how do I include this?
and
3. How do I get to just post the first paragraphs of my posts with a read more thingy after it? I have asked this before and I don't have a relevant thing in my tools section.

#1) is in your widgets, in your dashboard, goto appearance then click on widgets
from there on the right hand side are the widget areas, (each theme will name them slightly differently) look for the sidebar widget open it and delete one of the search widgets
#2) I assume is your comments area, -- not sure the best guidance to give
#3) can be done in the post itself, by using the "more" tag

yes and no,
every theme is unique in its own right
that is not something to worry about
all themes follow the save general pattern, so that is how I knew where to direct your attention, it is just the specific setup maybe slightly different to the theme I use
just checked back on your site and it looks like the 2 areas I was able to give some direction on you did -- Congrats!
and it looks like the comments area did open up at the end of the article as well
hopefully this satisfied these challenges, now onto new challenges!
