Amazon Tracking

I am building an Amazon affiliate site. I have quite a few posts on my site already but it is early days yet so I have no sales. I would like to know how to track the traffic I am getting to my site, and possibly more importantly, the traffic that my site is sending to Amazon.

I have used a different short link for each link that I have created and would like to know how successful these have been individually. This way I can replicate the successful links in other posts.

I believe that Amazon has the tools to be able to do this but I am unsure where to find them and how to accomplish my task.

Any help would be much appreciated, even if it is a point in the right direction for some relevant training or tutorial.

Thanks in advance

I noticed way back in March of this year that my Amazon reports did not display what products were being clicked on. All clicks were listed in the "other clicks". I still have no idea what is being clicked on. I've even contacted Amazon about this and have had no luck. I'll follow this thread to see what others come up with. Good luck with this!

"Other clicks" means that they first came through an affiliate link of yours to Amazon, but then kept on shopping/browsing Amazon and looked at other products.
But Amazon does not offer a detailed tracking for those clicks.
They only show you which of your links was clicked to bring the potential customer to Amazon.

Only if they buy something will Amazon show you what it is, even when it wasn't something you promoted.

Good answer Moirtz,

Thanks. :)

I agree with Moritz, and you can also analyze how much traffic, how many clicks, where your traffic is coming from, etc., and much much more using Google Analytics Webmaster Tools.

Hey,
that's rather easy.
Log in to your Amazon Affiliate account. On the right side under "Orders Summary", click on "View Full Report".
On the next page under "Items with no orders" click on "Show all items" and you will see all the product links that got clicked.

There might be a more detailed summary somewhere, but that's the one I always check.

To track the traffic that is coming to your site, you can use Google Analytics.
But if you site is still young, I wouldn't do that, as people can get crazy frustrated when they don't get much traffic on a new site.

I can't find the place that says "Items with no orders"

Maybe you clicked on the wrong link.
Make sure you go to the "Orders Summary" and not to the "Earnings Summary".

This is great Moritz! I was wondering how I could see what items have been clicked. Now I can see them.

I have had 93 items clicked from Nov 1 to 17. Too bad there has only been one sale (commission is 44 cents). Now if only all of these clickers would order.

Getting clicks is already awesome.
More sales would be even better, of course. But that's how it usually is.
At least it's the same for me. Only some of the clicks convert to sales. ;)
