A Tad the Worse for Wear.

I have to say I was feeling a tad beat up and thread-bare by the time I made the decision to join Wealthy Affiliate. I was strapped for cash and shoving every iron in the fire I could find. I was chucking a ton of... dung... at the wall in hopes of something sticking.

I had gone for broke, putting everything I had left into trying to build an email list as fast as I could. I had determined that leveraging the power of the internet to earn a handsome living for once in my life was what I was going to do, and I had determined I was going for it with everything I had. Despite my lack of both funding and marketing knowledge.

My impetuousness, mostly fuelled by desperation, had at a certain point landed me in a state of utter overwhelmedness, and worse off than I had been, prior to my fervent efforts to fly before learning to walk.

But I found that I was oddly not as dejected as I might have thought I ought to be. I had received a bit of a cash injection that I had not really been expecting, so the pressure was off there.

Then I remembered about this learn-as-you-earn platform that had kept popping up along the way in my journey, which claimed to be something ethical and integral, in a sea of prospects that I had quickly, but painfully learned were anything but.

The thing that occured to me was that everytime this thing had popped up, and I had read about it, claiming to be so honest and legitimate, I had had a Spidey-sense about it, that it actually was.

I wish now that I had followed that gut feeling a lot sooner, but, to make a long story less long, here I am, and despite the very extensive days I am putting into it, that feeling of being overwhelmed is nowhere to be seen.

And I am having an absolute blast!

I quickly realised that my niche had been wrong. I wasn't as passionate about making money online as I was about natural health and wellness, and that changed everything.

So I then just began to put one foot in front of the other, following the simple training at an easy pace, and finding myself getting more and more excited, but without any desire to rush ahead. I was really just enjoying rolling with the moment, and learning alongside others who seemed to be in the exact same boat that I was!

And the fact that there are a ton of more seasoned people in this community called Wealthy Affiliate eager to help an old rookie out was a very big bonus.

In a nutshell, I have been feeling since joining Wealthy Affiliate roughly a month ago, like I am right where I need to be, doing just what I want to do. And although I am very hopeful that it will all lead to financial success like I have never before experienced in my nearly 51 years, I am oddly not in a hurry. I am just glad to be learning so very much, amongst a really great community of people, and feeling like I have settled into a "pocket" that I have been searching for for a very long time.

Blessings and Success to you, and thanks for reading!

I am good. There is no point being any other way...

LOL, its alright the important thing is you still here!

joce

I'm still here! ;)

I just checked out your website. Such beautiful craftsmanship! I love your picture frames. I do not get the connection I THOUGHT you had to the niche of Health and Wellness. But I love your eye for beauty and the natural look you so aptly produce. As yet, I am not shopping muchj until I get a website producing returns. For me, it will take awhile. Just have to say it: Good Work!!
Shirley

Thanks! The frames thing I have been trying to make a go of for several years now. I have just had a terrible time trying to sell them online. I AM doing health and wellness now. "un-pharma.com". I'm not even sure how you got to the frames site...? Sounds like I may have some wires crossed somewhere...
You read the Bible! Excellent. Seems like there are a few believers among us. I love it!

Yes, I Believe. It is somewhat discouraged on hear to talk much about it, for the sake of keeping a happy WA Family, though I think the leaders themselves are believers in spiritual matters. It is an effort to prevent faith activists pushing their personal faith without respect for others.

When I went to your profile page, there was a link to your frames website. I saw that it was developed under a different platrofm...can't remember the name...but you probably can promote it with the concepts used with WA, as well, and therefore might get two going for you.

How is your health website moving? Is it up and running?

I figured Kyle and Carson for believers. And many more seem to be.
I do plan to keep the frames thing going, but not focussed on it at the moment. I might just start over eventually, because I think Google is punishing me with that site for some reason... Maybe for key word stuffing, or something. In four years I haven't really ranked, despite much effort.
I read your story on your site and commented, so I won't do so again here, except to say that I was so moved and inspired. You have GOT to keep going! I believe you have a calling with this, and if you don't mind, I want to help you any way I can, which might not be much, but I would love to start by sharing your story page on my FB, if you don't mind. Also, you need a logo! Well, in my opinion, anyway... ;) I don't know if you agree, or if they will let you add one, not being premium? We've got to get you a premium membership! Anyway, I do graphic design, and I would love to design a logo for you. I do them for everybody I know and don't charge them anything, usually. But it would certainly bring a little more life to your site...
Let me know your thoughts.

Is this a divine appointment, or something? I chose a couple pics in THEMES, about garden, and produce. Neither suited me well.
Then I read from Kyle that the themes are less about the picture and more STYLE of the page. Huh? I wanted a garden OR perhaps even better, a cornucopia of multicolored veggies and produce. One of my posts will be titled: "Eat the Rainbow" as variety is a major key to healthy nutrition.

Your accolades of my "calling" move me to tears. I figure that meeting people's needs for improved health is one way to minister and hopefully earn my keep. Actually, God has been "keeping me," and never let me down!
By the way, I have the purple diamond, like you, which is the symbol for Premium, so I understand. I payed for a year of Premium near the start, while I had the money, hoping my site might begin to pay before that ran out.

I was thinking, maybe we could work together between the two sites to generate traffic. I do not mind your using my page on your FB. But I prefer unscrambling my posts, if I can figure it out, before doing that. It might detract from your site, which might lower your google rating.

And if you can help me with a fitting logo, and lead me in setting that up on my site, which is a WA hosted site, I would be indebted to you!

I have been reading through your un-pharma website, and find it valuable info. I'm into herbs, bal. diet, etc. I sit hear eating my brown rice with garbanzos, topped with a fresh picked and chopped dandelion salad on top. (Don't laugh.) Before that I made an experimental drink from a hair-brained idea of dandelion/orange juice with a pinch of stevia....I heard that might be good for my eyes. Marigolds are very good for eyes, and the author of that article mentioned dandelion in the same sentence, so I decided to try it. My landlord has a large yard peppered with dandelions, so I took advantage of the fact. At some point that may get sprayed. I don't know when.
I spent three years in Northern California where Bay Leaves grew. My mom got to using bay leaves in so many foods. We loved that flavor; but I never heard of health benefits for that herb, though I suspicioned its aromatic scent gave it some medicinal properties.

This reply is entirely too long. Time for me to send my reply.
Wow! My mind is spinning!

Well, you are just a mad scientist, aren't you??
First, before I forget... I was thinking a good "tag line" under your logo would be "maintain your health, not your sickness", or some variation of that, like you state in your story.
I would love to team up with you, whatever that looks like... you seem to have a lot of knowledge, whereas I am admittedly just really beginning to learn the deeper health things, as I actually wasn't as excited about natural health before starting this website as I have become, since! I didn't realise just how much it would tie into my "conspiratorial" tendencies, haha.
I have realised that I absolutely should not be helping out Amazon, whatsoever (yeah, they'll probably go under without my help!), and I rediscovered this site: https://www.healthrangerstore.com/.
I have just applied to be an affiliate.
Sorry, I didn't notice the diamond, and had thought you were a free member.
If you would trust me to make me an admin of your website, I could make some tweaks for you and add a logo. I am going to do a quick something today, logo-wise and see what you think, and then any modifications you would suggest will be easy, and don't be shy to be picky about it. It might as well be what you want!

I am just finishing up an article on fortifying the immune system. I figure I might as well shamelessly try to capitalize on everybody's fears right now... Isn't that what Jesus would do?? ;)
I am a work in progress...

Well Craig,
I have a college education that started out in nutrition. My lack of high school science and chemistry background created a problem for me. I struggled through Inorganic chemistry with weak math skills and little science background. I passed that class because I plagued my teacher for help, which he gave, bu I still believe he adjusted my grade to help me pass. (Barely!) I moved to Organic Chem, a requisite for Nutrition Majors. The old teacher weeded premed's and nurses successfully by daily 5-point quizzes, each of g questions interrelated in such a way that if you missed one you missed them all. I felt I had no choice but to withdraw from that class before I actually failed his class. At that point I switched to Home Economics and Teacher Education. That also included Nutrition classes, so I did get that, although Home Economics was considered near worthless, shortly after I graduated. Why? Because society changed so much that clothing was cheaper to buy than buying material and making clothes...industry take-over. And Cooking, foods, nutrition lacked value in people's eyes when it was so easy to open a can rather than actually "make" food, and people gave up GARDENING!...my school dropped the department, and in my church-sponsored colleges, only one in all of N. Am. teaches or taught Home Ec. after that.
I guess they stopped teaching h.S. girls the home arts. That left the girls free to take up business and industry rather than learn to be mothers. Kindergartens took over parenting. Done were the days of "Train up a child in the way he should go...".
Mad scientist? You might have hit the nail on the head.
Really, I got some nutrition experience without having to be a Nutritionist, which cloistered occupation I may noit have preferred, anyway. I grew up in a home with health emphasis. I have read many books and blogs, and emails. I have an Encyclopedia of natural medicine which I dearly treasure. My church partially promotes health and naturally living, as well as my family grew that way. Have you ever heard of Jethrow Klause? I have his "Back to Eden" book, teaching home remedies, herbs, diet and lifestyle. And 2 years of my life I had the cherished privilege of working in a medical alternative Lifetyle program under doctor supervision in Georgia, USA. I have books collected along that line. I have several herb books, too. I love to listen to Youtube how-to's for wilderness living and survival. One of the YT's showed how Cambodian built up a home with little or no tools. He sought out metal-bearing rock, built a unique bamboo forge, smelted the rock and MADE metal tools!!! I loved it!

Ok, I know some stuff, and I don't have to be a doctor, but society does not believe that, on average.

Im going to head to bed. It is past my bedtime right now. I believe you are in Central or Mountain Time

One question: do I enter your nickname or real name as guest admin? Or email address?
More Tomorrow.

Im not sure how that works for guest admin... email, I would guess.
Wow, that is all interesting stuff!
I think back then the indoctrination centers weren't as bad as they are now, but I think back to even when I was in elementary school in the 70s, and I see what they were up to. In fact, I strongly suspected my whole life that I was being lied to from every direction. I know now that that was grace. It is like God dropped a big olde bag of it in me at a very young age, if not before I was born! I have to keep that in mind when I find myself frustrated with everybody whom the programming has clearly worked on. That could have been me. Then again, God said he would send strong delusion to them that reject the truth... And they are, after all, "willfully ignorant". Which I'm pretty sure means, "dumb on purpose"...

Lying was masterfully developed in heaven, you know, so we've been dealing with it from before Earth Days. (Not of GOD!)
I am sick of lies.

I like your picture illustration for your post. It makes me think of the Good Samaritan story, gently rescuing the beat-up traveler.

Greetings Craig!
I just read your Worse for Wear post. MY, you have a great way of expressing your thoughts. It was no pain to me to read what you wrote. We possibly share the same niche, being I have chosen an angle in health. There are so many different directions that could take. I guess I am taking more a "historical" direction.

Anyway, Health is vital and in short availability these days. We certainly need to make the most of what we have!

Enjoy your journey. I'm glad you are. I do not know what background you come from. I do not come from much tech experience, so website building has been challenging. It will/has slowly improved. To YOU!

Shirley

That's a wonderful Rocky type success story there Craig. Very happy that you have found your calling and that you are pursuing it with zeal and passion. Took a quick look at your site layout and you have been busy good going. I would relocate the disclaimer from the top of the page to in your tab section. If you want feedback on your site check out https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback
All the best
Hugh

Haha, thanks Hugh. It really wasn't that bad, I just thought the Rocky picture would be funny. I appreciate the feedback and suggestion. Having the disclaimer where it is was not sitting right with me, so now it is confirmed. 'Preciate it!

Nice. I am linking you so that we can encourage each other along the way.
Blessings
Hugh
