Comfort is the Enemy of Growth

I usually spend my time sharing what I’m working on or the internal dialogues I have with myself.

Today, I want to invite you into one of those conversations.

We all know the mantra: “You have to step out of your comfort zone.”

But let’s be honest—it’s easier said than done. Human nature pulls us toward the path of least resistance. We compromise, we settle, and we play it safe.

But as Billy Cox famously said:

"Life will only change when you become more committed to your dreams than you are to your comfort zone."

What’s Really Holding Us Back?

If we look closely, the "walls" of our comfort zone are built from the bricks of our favourite excuses. We tell ourselves the same stories to justify why we aren't moving forward:

• "I don't have enough time."
• "The algorithm changed again."
• "I’m too old/young for this."
• "My health/family/circumstances aren't right."

We treat these reasons like facts, but they are often just anchors.

Let’s Get Real

Growth doesn't happen in the "busy work"; it happens in the moments that make us sweat a little. It happens when we do the thing we've been procrastinating on because it feels "too big" or "too new."
