Work Life Balance
I grew up in Denmark which is frequently ranked as having the happiest people in the world, we really believe and practise a healthy work life balance and I remember being very happy with my life in Copenhagen until I moved to England which has the longest working hours in Europe....I cycled to work, I had great colleagues all leaving at 4pm and 5 weekspaid holiday every year (now most have 6).

(small print - happy pill consumption is also very high but thats another story.....)
15 years in corporate sales and I have started to re-think my whole career and lifestyle as I no longer enjoy my job - fickle prospects, pompous partners and a crowded market place with little differentiation and a new buying pattern.....Although I love working with customers, the office politics really suck and I have seen it all before so after being headhunted to a pre IPO software company late 2015 I started my new job in December and left in January - it lasted as long as a Christmas tree. I was not hard to trade a 100K $ salary for time and freedom and a much better work life balance but helas no income and after 4 months I wanted to go back to work and thought that I had found the perfect corporate job that could fund my hobbies that I am hoping to make money from: cooking, health and photography.
How wrong was I....I should have known better but I am now back with an 11-12 hour working day, an early commute and over-time for late night meetings and business trips. No time for the hobbies and certainly not a good work life balance....So something has to change which is where WA enters the scene - very happy to be part of this community and getting greta training that will allow me to set up a business without an money tied up in inventory - whats not to like?
I don't need the money nearly as much as 7-8 years ago and have almost paid off my mortgage and have sufficient savings to leave my professional career forever. The BMW will be sold and my mortgage paid off to spend a minimum while building a new affiliate marketing career to avoid trading time for money.....
All skills are transferable so my customer facing, presentation and sales and marketing training will now be used to start my own affiliate business with the help of WA....working 11-12 hours for myself is much more satisfying and I could always get a part time job to pay my bills.
