About Stims

Hello everyone my name is Simon and I am originally from South Wales but I am now living in Ireland.
I currently work as a seasonal professional golf caddie which has led me to meet people from all works of life both in Ireland and the US.
Outside of golf I used to be Buddhist monk and I use my experience of this to teach Qigong / meditation.
I am also qualified in Traditional Chinese acupuncture, Tui Na, medical Qigong and herbal medicine, I have also received empowerment's in Buddhist healing practices.
I am interested in helping people from all walks of life in any way I can.
I was asked by a Buddhist master in China in 2008 to research Buddhist healing, psychology and meditation as a support therapy to an emerging cancer therapy in southern China. This directly led me to spend the last 9 years researching the possibility of combining Meditation and Buddhist healing practices with natural medicine so that they can be used to help alleviate the symptoms and suffering associated with serious illness.
This research and life experience has led me to work on a self development program and a golf psychology and fitness program which I hope to market online.
The proceeds from which will go to fund my main aim which is to establish a network of cancer support centers which combine traditional Chinese medicine with Buddhist healing and meditation practices.
Hence this is the reason I am here to learn new skills and meet new contacts to make this all possible.

Hello Simon, nice to meet you and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate (WA). Thank you for the follow and all the best in achieving your goals at WA. Your topic is fascinating. I have been curious in learning Qigong and possibly Wushu, but finding a knowledgeable practitioner here in Ottawa, Canada is difficult. If I lived in Toronto or Vancouver it would be easier. Keep in touch

Hi Harvey, thanks for the message. After years of studying both Taoist and Buddhist systems of Qigong alongside the medical system I have discovered the most effective system is to shut the mind down and let natural energy flow without interrupting it.
Centering techniques taught in Karate would be the foundation of good Qigong. My niche is going to be explaining the process of qigong training but targeted at a golf audience (The fundamentals are the same) I will keep you posted when I start.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle, thank you I was wondering if I should run this by you. The niche I have found myself in is twofold charitable donations and personal development. The personal development business is me sharing my experience of 15 years into mental performance. I plan on selling distance learning meditation programs which cut through the nonsense of meditation practices so that you will get into the zone quicker.
Working alongside this is charitable donations. Donating to charities generates positive karma or spiritual merits for people. It is then up to you how you cash your merits in.
I will write a blog exploring and explaining this process through the eyes of the worlds major philosophies and religion's
But basically the foundation of every success is earning merits. I would like to set up a website which allows people to fundraise and raise donations on my site for any cause that is close to their heart. The donors will then earn merits for donating to the causes.
The site will host the funding page and people will share information locally and I will generate a global presence to attract
Possible donors through social media. I will then take a small percentage to cover costs any profit generated would be distributed amongst charities using the service.
At the moment it feels good in my head I just have no idea how to execute it. But I have a funny feeling that is going to change.!
I have googled affiliate programs for fundraising and there is not much out there.
I would appreciate your feedback

Thanks again

Simon

I would move into the charity as you start to earn income, keep them independent and it always feels awkward if you try to mix the two (in particular when you are not profitable first).

Personal development is a trap niche, as is the "life coaching" niche. Whom do you want to help specifically, personally develop what? Someone looking to develop better skills in their relationship with their spouse or someone looking to get over their fear of public speaking, or someone looking to......etc?

You need to narrow this down to something that is more specific.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hi thanks for the reply Kyle. You are right about keeping the two separate I had intended to do that.
And you are right about narrowing it down I spent most of last night searching for a direction on how to share my experience and ended up going round in circles.
At the end of the day it helps everyone which is a bit broad to start !
So now my true dream is to help cancer patients with mental toughness skills and positive affirmation training, but I don't think that will earn money and needs to be narrowed down.
So my other option is Golf mental performance from an eastern perspective.
My father and grandfather were PGA pros and I have a lifetime of experience if golf 15 of which are as a professional caddie at some of Ireland and the U S golf resorts
What do you think

Again thank you I am blown away by this site I think the WA affiliate program is going to get a roll as well once the golf is up and running. The benefit to charities for fundraising using this site would be endless.

Thank you

Yeah, either of these can be a direction and I would choose the one you are most interested in and passionate about. Naturally I would say that the golf mental performance one has more commercial intent and you might want to consider that as your starting point, but it is completely up to you.

Hi kyle thanks for the reply, and due to your training which I am absolutely ecstatic about my golf mental game plan has 3 levels all of which I am interested in and have experience in commercially
1 mental game,
2 golf injuries
3 golf holidays
the combined traffic is 750 and the competition is under a 100
Is it good idea to have all on one site or should I have 3 separate sites.

Don't worry about traffic with your "niche". There will be 10,000's of keywords that you can target, so choose a niche that you are passionate about.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)
