Keep It Human: How to Spot and Fix the AI Dash in Your Writing

Hello, fellow members of the WA Community! 👋

I've read many blog posts from the group and noticed a pattern: those em dashes (the little dash between words) are popping up a lot! If you're using AI tools for content writing, here's a simple way to make your posts feel more human—eliminate those "AI dashes" between words.

For example, AI wrote, "Look into local small business or retirement associations—they often offer workshops, funding advice, and networking opportunities."

Instead, keep it natural by writing: Human touch: "Look into local small business or retirement associations. They often offer workshops, funding advice, and networking opportunities."

Those em dashes can be great when used sparingly, but overuse is a telltale sign of AI-generated content. Keep your writing authentic and flowing smoothly by swapping them out for shorter sentences or commas!

Happy writing, and keep up the great work! 🚀

Those bloody-dashes-are-everywhere Steve!!

Best to get rid of them as soon as possible my friend! :-)

Thanks for pointing it out, Steve! It's like we've got some lazy writers that don't take the time to truly get rid of those major flaws in between sentences.

Good eye 👁️

Great info! I've been noticing those quite a bit lately as well. I never thought to use Grammarly as Howard mentioned. Thanks all!

Even with Grammarly, you must still keep your eye open for them. It doesn’t catch all of them.

Hi Steve! Thanks for sharing.

Grammarly catches those for me when using AI content creation.

Hi Howard, I used Grammarly religiously; it's a fantastic help!
