Knowledge is no longer the power.

I heard someone say this yesterday and I thought how true is that...

At one time, everyone was saying that the more you know, the more power you have... but with YouTube, Google and the Internet, it is no longer the question of how much you know. We live in the era where information is literally on our fingertips....

So if knowledge is no longer the power, what is?

Behaviour... that is what is power...

Knowing and applying it are 2 very different things. For example, we know the process of building our websites - i.e. Finding niche, building content, engaging social media, etc etc. but actually doing it everyday takes discipline and commitment, and that's behaviour.

Knowing how to do something won't get you there, but knowledge with the right behaviour will.

I still feel knowledge is power. Just more needs to be known. There are still some people that don't use what's handed to them or just refuse.

that's right. people can get knowledge, but whether it is used or applied is what matters.

Hi I've read this and you have made me think about this, that's good! I feel knowledge still gives power to the mind , but the days are gone of it being limited to a few who can afford it . I don't think it's about behaviour but about time management. I think it's worth maybe looking into this before generalising it as behavioural.

Hi there, I think time management is a skill, similar to knowledge. Knowing about how to do it is important, but having the behaviour (or character?) to want to do it is important.

Is it more motivational characteristics within your personality your thinking of? I'm just not really sure 'behavior' is the correct word to use as this is 'learned' just like knowledge. I find sometimes defining and writing a definition of the main words I want to use help's the understanding. It's all learning anyhow.
Sinead.

Hi Sinead, yeah I think its more of a character that I am referring to. But then again, character is also cultivated through habits and habits through actions. Character drives behaviour I guess? :-)

Yeah, I think it's all back to the 'nature versus nurture' ideas. This might be something interesting for you to write about and see ..what's in our nature and what's to nurture, or what has been nurtured to give us the interest to progress, drive forward and better ourselves.I think I got it from my mother! She never stops studying.Just finished a 4 year course aget 73.she's a sommelier now. Nice to be that in retirement :) I wonder do we reinvent ourselves due to our age ,environment, interests and circumstances?
Looking forward to reading more of your work.
Regards
Sinead.

Hi, I don't think it's about knowledge but rather focus and an ability to set goals and take massive action each day and break down barriers as to overcome obstacles is the key to success.Having said that, though, I need to practice what I preach. Tracey

that's right. taking massive action is key. the question then is what is it that differentiates between a person that will take massive action and one who does not. i think thats behaviour
