My wife and daughter want to set up an online store. I'm going to try to help them with the set-up. I need the best free theme and plugin that I can find. Thanks
I have heard some people talk about woo commerce, but I am not sure if it's free. Shopify may not be free, but I have heard amazing things from some companies.
You can also try searching for plugins on Wordpress. Just make sure it is compatible with your theme and has been well reviewed by previous users.

Instead of a shopping cart type like woocommerce, I think
they are going to do a traditional blog for fashion type stuff first. Then down the road maybe start a full store site using woocommerce.
We're all in the learning curve. I have some experience setting up sites but get bogged down with the appearance stuff.

I have a domain name that someone is interested in buying but not sure about how to do this. It's purchased through godaddy and hosted here. the site content isn't part of the d
You have several choices. You could put it up for auction at your registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap) or you can use a site like Flippa.com. The advantage of using these services is that they handle the transaction.
You may also want to look into getting a domain appraisal to see how much it is worth. I cannot advise you on services that handle this as I have never used them.

Do you get a menu bar on the left still, just the rest of the page is a big blank white screen?
yes . its happening to 2 sites that I have. The only thing I can figure is that they are older sites that I haven't done anything with them for a while.
