Practice, Practice,and more Practice
Any one can succeed at anything they set their mind to do. I truly believe this because I've done it several times in my life. What ever you want to succeed at requires a certain set of skills. You need to learn those skills. All skills can can be learned. Here at WA we are learning the skills required to succeed with an online business.
Once you have learned the skill then you need to practice that skill until you become great at that skill. This requires a great work ethic because you need to practice your new skill every chance you get. If you want to succeed where everyone else is failing than you have to put the work in to get your skills above everyone else.
One of the basic skills required to succeed online is the ability to write. It's a skill that we can all acquire but it does require lots of practice. Last year I skipped out on this skill as I have a fear of writing. So I paid others to write my blog post for me. This eventually came back to bite me. When I ran into some family issues that drained my bank accounts, I could no longer afford to pay others to write my blogs for me. My website went silent.
This morning I wrote my third blog in my come back on my website. It's difficult for me to write but I'm pushing myself to do it. I know that in the long run I'll get better at it and I'll eventually get more comfortable with writing as well. It's a skill that I must improve if I'm going to achieve success online.
My new goal is to post a short blog here on WA on a daily basis. It's all about practicing the skills and writing a daily blog is great practice.

Dickw is write (or do I mean right!). But once you have done that have a break and then reread your blog before posting. Writing as you speak works but it should be coherent, spelled correctly and presented with appropriate spacing between works and sentences/paragraphs. And I am sure you can do this. Cheers, Helen.
Thanks Helen, I always need to step away then come back to clean up my writing. Here at WA I typically post it then come back and correct it later. Unfortunately, I still miss things. With practice, I'll get better at it.

Steve,you've put your finger on the trigger . Writing is a learned skill and anyone can do it. Chris2005 had a great idea. Just write what you say-- or think. Don't get all tied up in technical. Just speak on paper.....Dick
Steve, not being a writer makes this harder. I hated writing in school and at work when it was needed. I just make it like I am talking to someone and just keep typing. It becomes more natural after a while, but I still do not like writing a lot. Practice, practice, practice.

I've always hated writing in school and at work as well. It's still a painful process for me to sit down to write a blog post. But I really want to get out of the 9 to 5 job and make this a success. The writing will get easier with practice. Hopefully, someday it'll even be enjoyable. As my business grows, I believe I'll start enjoying it more.
Based on this blog post you wrote, I'd say you're a great writer! Believe in yourself. You're better than you think you are :)
Recently at work, someone at work came to me for writing advice. They also said I was a great writer. I was a bit surprised by that comment. I need to work on believing in my ability and get comfortable with writing.
Excellent. Not only do we need to be skillful writers but it is imperative we become prolific writers as well. I practice as much and as often as I can. The goal you have set for yourself is a good one. We don't want to just be good, we want to be great and the on;y way to do become great is to do it as often as you possibly can( commenting is a good way to practice also:)
You are correct. We need to be great at writing so that we can produce great content, quickly and easily. With this mastery then you can master all the other skills needed for this business because there are many skills required for success.
Yes, commenting is great practice as well.
I like to write. We all have something to say and our own way of I saying it. I don't think you should stress about it too much, just write and your personality will shine through. And as you say the more you write the better you get.

The online business is a natural fit for those who like to write. For the rest of us, we can learn to write as well as anyone. We just need the motivation to keep practicing.
