I'm stuck on choosing a niche - like everything I'm probably overthinking it. I'm a teacher and a single mom and feel like my area of expertise I have to offer is being thrifty

Hi Steph, I was going to say whatever your passion is. You have 2 fabulous ideas, why not do both, one at a time. Single mothers ALWAYS need advice and how awesome to get it from an educators point of view. Looking forward to your sites.

Thank you so very much! I appreciate it! :-)

Hi Steph, I had this exact same conversation with someone earlier today. Im going to tell you the same thing I told her because I totally understand what you are going through. When I first started thinking about my niche I was so overwhelmed because there is so much out there. But then I just started thinking about the things that I spend money on. And combined that with something that I know a lot about and can use to help other people like me and bam it just came to me. So think about it like that. Not just things that you are passionate about but what do or would YOU actually spend money on? :)

Thanks! That is helpful information. I am going to sit down right now and make a list of things I spend money on. Off the top of my head, it's all spent on my girls - clothes, food, school stuff. My only guilty pleasure and spending on myself would be books and I buy many - love to read. Thought about that but wondered if too general. Think making a list, sleeping on it and praying to wake up with an epiphany is my best bet for tonight! :-) I appreciate you and your time! :-)

A Book niche is a great place to start. I love to read myself but I like fantasy novels and graphic novels. Everyone I know loves to read and they still read REAL books on top of E-Books lol.

Hi. If your expertise is in being thrifty, I would try and come up with something along those lines. What about frugal fashion? I also like your idea of thrifty finds.

Go with something that you know about, it will be that much easier for you to write about. :) Michelle

Ew, I really like that - having two teenage daughters, I'm always on the lookout for frugal fashion! I think what I'm struggling with is that I feel like I can come up with content and make it ongoing for educator discounts and single mom thrifty finds - but it seems like most of what I can think of to point people to are websites and not specific products on those sites. Being new, I'm trying to understand if it HAS to be products I'm promoting specifically or if directing folks to websites that go along with what I'm writing about can pay out in any way? Thank you for your help!

You will have an easier time if you have products in mind to monetize. After you get through some of the training, you would see that you can apply with affiliates to promote their products (like frugal anything, depending on how you go with your niche). There are going to be many affiliates that fit right into what you are thinking. :)

Thank you so very much! :-) My overthinking is on overdrive. Will sleep on it and come back to the drawing board tomorrow! :-)

Great! Glad to get you heading in the right direction. You're well on your way. Have a great night!
