I have added a few tutorial pictures on my website and they are extremely large. I have made them small on my side, but when I publish it they are still huge. I have no idea wh

You have already received good answers. Aplly them.

You need to resize your images in your image editor. Shrink the percentage down to 20 or 30%.

When you go to place an image into a post or page, after you click on the add media button in the editor area, there is a setting to make the image thumbnail, medium or full size. When you click that add media button you get a separate window with all your images in it to choose. After you choose the image, its details show up on the right of the window. The setting for the image size is all the way on the bottom. You have to scroll down to see it.

It might be the theme settings. You can try individually resize them with html coding. But I can't help you with that. I have no knowledge in html.
